Journal - Ack
I've rediscovered that fireworks are not my favorite things anymore. It's been a couple of years since I've been close enough to hear them going off. Watching is one thing, but I've decided to avoid future repetitions of being that close to them going off.

Also too busy to sleep. I love coffee. So. Much.

Coffee is great, isn't it? Sorry that

I LOVE coffee.

Probably too much.

I'll be in the country for the weekend, but message me anytime. Tristan likely won't let me binge anything so I'll be available.

How are you, anyway? It's been a few days.

Coffee is what sustains me most days, except I have no taste for it. It could be sludge and I'd be set. Even if the spoon stands up in the coffee, I'll drink it.

In the country - what - where the hell do you go? I don't get to leave the country. What the hell.

I'm doing ok. Yeah, it's been a bit. I've been busying myself by sleeping a fuckton and working too hard. Nothing terribly fun with extracurriculars.

Try putting chocolate in it. Chocolate makes everything better.

Tristan has a cousin who has a house out in the country, and we're going to go to it for a couple of days before my nerves completely unwind. You're a wizard, love, you can travel more. I'm just a pop away. Maybe you'd like to take a trip to the continent sometime? If you don't mind me doing a few meetings and such during it, I was thinking of going in the next month or so, if only to do some shopping for Yule, and you can come along? I have a few dueling friends who will likely lend me a flat somewhere.

At least you're getting some rest. I feel the working too hard, though. Let's get together sometime soon though. Maybe you can show me something in the Muggle world and I can show you something in the wizarding one, or something?

Can't argue with that. And I accidentally-on-purpose still have a ton of halloween sweets that I managed to keep Rhys from eating, so.

The continent, like, Europe? Never been. Sometimes I just sort of forget I can, you know. With all the shit going on and work and stuff, and I've been working and living with Muggles all but like five years of my life.

Sounds both vague and full of possibilities. Sure, I'm game.

Good job on that. Couldn't have been easy!

Yeah, Europe. I'll probably be hitting Paris at the very least. So let me know if you want to come along, or I could probably find a place for you and even Rhys if you wanted to go another time. The most expensive thing, if you don't take a port key, is finding a place to stay. I lived in Europe during the last several years, doing the dueling circuit, so I at least have some contacts.

It's hard for me to wrap my mind around sometimes. I still don't really 'do' the Muggle world. I've spent my entire life with magic.

Now to figure out somewhere to bring you! Haha.

Being significantly taller helps.

Wow - that's - wow. I only get him one weekend a month, for now at least, but. I honestly have no idea what people do.

I feel like a complete plank for boggling over it, it's just never been part of my...culture? Or whatever? You go where the work is, and stay there til the work moves. And I've been doing that since sixteen. And I'm babbling

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest not oktoberfest. Anywhere.

Play tourist. I like doing that sometimes. Plus kids like strange new places, right? I did, at least, but we traveled some, too.

It is a cultural thing, I think? I know it seems as strange to you as the Muggle world often does to me. It's unimaginable at times that it doesn't occur that you can just do that, you know? Just like... doing dishes the Muggle way is not my first thought. You just wave a wand to set the spells going.

So noted! Though Germany has the best beer and sausages. You'd probably be surprised.
