Journal Post-Astoria Greengrass
I just love the start of term when all the Hogwarts students come in for their robes. We don't have quite the rush that Malkins does, but it does keep us on our toes. I'd always wished when I was in school that I had robes like we offer-that change with a charm into cuter styles when not in class-and I figured out how to do it myself by 7th year, but it's satisfying to see so many girls excited to wear their robes.

Some days I miss Hogwarts; not MANY days, of course, but I've certainly been feeling some nostalgia lately.

I think I miss watching the Sorting most of all. What do you miss?

Private to Melinda

Hello, Ms. Bobbin. I know you're a good friend of Ms. Chang, and a very noteworthy pastry chef. I'm looking for someone for my upcoming wedding and I thought we could work together on what I would need. As the guest list is quite substantial, and we have quite a few requests, I apologize in advance that it will be very complicated, but as I have sampled your wares and can think of no one more talented, I know you can do the job. Would you be interested?

It took you until seventh year to figure that out? What a dear sweet lamb you were.

To get the particular charm correct, yes.

I wouldn't have called myself a lamb, then or now.

Oh darling, I'm sure your quaint charm is perfect for little girls, but I haven't been a little girl for quite some time. I prefer something...more mature.

We have plenty of styles that would suit classy, professional women.

I get my things from Madam Malkin's. If you want the best, you go to the best, wouldn't you agree? I never settle for anything less.

Then it's quite odd that you would go to a store that sells what most would consider inferior products.

I suppose there will always be a difference of opinion when it comes to taste.

Hello, Ms. Greengrass.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. That has always been one of my favourite parts about this job.

I would most certainly be interested and would like to invite you and your fiance to my shop for a first consultation, at your convenience, to hear more about what you have in mind as well as sampling of general cakes and desserts to narrow down the options. If that works out to both of our satisfactions, it would be followed by a second consultation where the final details will be worked out.

How does that sound?

Thank you, Ms. Bobbin. I had hoped that would be the case. It's always best to work with someone passionate about what they do, especially when it comes to one of the most important days of your life.

That sounds lovely. I'll have to consult Draco, but I think perhaps within the next two weeks would be best; this weekend even strikes me as key since I have a lot of appointments after that for the winter lines. If Draco isn't available, I'm sure my mother or sister would be happy to come, and we could perhaps take samples home to Draco?

I look forward to meeting with you. Let me know when works best.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Preferably we would meet during Sweet Nothing's business hours, however I do have Sunday and Monday available as well. Also, I would prefer at least a day to ensure that I have a wide selection for you to sample or if you have any special requests to have them prepared for you in advance.

So if this weekend is what suits you the best, may I suggest either 1pm this Saturday or 2 pm Sunday?

Business hours are fine, of course, I just would have to check with Draco to see whether he could come or it would be my mother and sister with me instead.

Let's try for Saturday at 1pm then, if that suits?

I will schedule you in for Saturday at 1pm, and if you need to change it, just let me know.

Now, I can't believe I forgot to ask this, but in the interest of preparation; do you have a date set for the wedding or any particular wishes to take into consideration?

Wonderful, I'll note it in my schedule and I'll plan on seeing you then, hopefully with my future husband in tow.

Excellent question, yes the wedding is set for Saturday February 14th. Romantic, yes? At present I am thinking I would like to do a cupcake tower with a traditional small cake on top for Draco and I to cut, and I'm still deciding how many flavors will choose and the kind of decorations, but I can bring in my idea binder and you can look at color swashes and sort of the feel I'm going for when we meet.

Yes, that is romantic. I have noted down your initial ideas, and will be preparing the consulation based on those. By all means do bring your idea binder; I want everything to be exactly as you want it to be, and I will take any help and inspiration I can to achieve that.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and your future husband as well, if not the Saturday, then maybe another time.

Oh good, I hope I won't be too....much. I know you're probably used to working with brides but we always have such specific visions, I know it can be frustrating.

Excellent, very much likewise!

Not to worry. If it's any consolation you're off to a very good start as a pleasurable bride to work with. I'm not seeing any of the warning signs I've seen with socalled bridezillas in the past.

That does do wonders, actually. I wouldn't want to be a bridezilla by any means, even if I am rather particular. I look forward to seeing how your wonderful skills will translate to making our day even more special!

I attended Hogwarts at the wrong time.

I could have used robes like you offer.

I could have too, which is why I'm glad we have them now.

But if you ever go between more than one type of work-say, you want something professional for one type of event and casual for another-we have adult robes that offer similar functionality.

The number of times I have had to untransfigure something wearing my sexiest red dress ...

I don't think robes could help with that.

Perhaps not, but robes than can go between a sexy dress and a more practical work option at the swish of a wand is something we DO offer, which maybe IS helpful?

I miss flying around the pitch, and then I also miss the sorts of things we used to do under the bleachers.

But back to the topic of robes, would you have any robes with spells that would be unaffected by other splls in the area? I often end up with traces of colours on my clothing, or other spell residue, and it would be nice to have a set of robes to wear overtop during procedures at Hardd Knut.

What sorts of things would you do under the bleachers? Did you lose quaffles there?

I have ones with stain resistant charms, but they wouldn't neccessarily block other spells...if you give me a little bit, I'm sure I could work on them. I think I have a few ideas that could make them work.

I had a friend who liked to smoke gillyweed and that's where we'd meet if we wanted to give it a try.

Take all the time you need. If you can figure out how to make the robes, I'm sure we could make an arrangement for payment maybe an exchange of services?

Oh. Oh. Well, I see.

That sounds excellent. I'll draw up some sketches with an estimate, and send them along. If that's acceptable, you can just sign and send it back and we'll get started on them for you.
