The house on Sheffield Terrace had been buzzing with life for a couple of hours. Isla had woken up right around the time the sun was up and had been in Alicia’s bed barely a minute later, jumping and cheering and letting out all of her excitement of going flying today. That in turn, had woken up Liam, who despite his reservations about flying was beginning to warm up to the idea, in large parts thanks to Alicia’s brother Sam, who had made the perfect mix of music and songs that were all about flying. With the two children bouncing in her bed, Alicia had fairly quickly given up on even attempting to pretend to be asleep in the hopes of getting just a few precious minutes more sleep. So she had sent the kids off with orders of picking out their clothes today, reminding them of the wind and the risk of rain before she had gone to get ready, allowing herself an extra-long shower just to wake up and allow the coffee to be just perfect when she was ready.
Going for practicality over looks, she still put on make-up and took her time getting her ponytail to be just right, before she pulled on the tight Swedish Short-Snout hide trousers and a long sleeved black fitted t-shirt. The sight that met her when she came out of her bedroom and they came barging down the stairs had her pause for a moment. Isla, unsurprisingly, had gone for the Quidditch gear, and was wearing the Puddlemere United jersey with ‘I. Spinnet’ on the back that Oliver had given them along with the matching leggings and her purple tutu while Liam looked like a miniature version of his uncle Sam in his jeans and Rolling Stones t-shirt.
Even though Adrian would be bringing pastries, Alicia still sat them down for some more sturdy breakfast, just to give herself and Adrian a fighting chance against the inevitable sugar high they were going to be on. She even had some yoghurt herself while she relished the taste of the perfectly brewed coffee, with just a small splash of chocolate syrup in it.
When 9 am came around, Liam had lost some of the nerve he had woken up with. So Alicia had put the CD Sam had made him in the stereo and the three of them running around the ground-floor reception room with their arms out while loudly singing along to the music.
