Hermione watched as Lavender worked on the shoe. She took note of the wand form that was used and noted the differences in how she would have completed the spell and how Lavender accomplished it. There would have been a time when she would have rolled her eyes and told Lavender she was doing it all wrong even though her method worked just as well as Hermione's. It was a sign of growth that she no longer nit picked the methodology behind the spell but rather admired the outcomes instead.
"Nice work," she smiled a little sadly. "Have you ever wondered how things might have been different if I had focused a bit more on building relationships than perfecting spell work while we were in school?" It wasn't that Hermione doubted the necessity for proper spell work, she had just taken to wondering how much she'd missed out on due to her persnickety nature.
