Journal: Alicia Spinnet
It’s that time of the year again: back to school. Quite a few of you helped out with the trips to Diagon Alley to get some of the Foundation’s kids ready to go, and for that we are truly grateful. Now we’re asking for your help and support again, this time with helping a handful of students (and in some cases, their families as well) getting safely on-board the Hogwarts Express:

1 first year students and their family is spending the weekend in London, have requested assistance at the train station.
4 students (second year and up) are without transportation to King’s Cross for various reasons. Portkey and Floo access will be provided.

If you can and if you are interested in helping out, please contact me and I will pair you up with a student as well as fill you in on the hows and whys.

Private to those with children: During a talk with Dominic Chambers (the handyman at Finnigan’s) talk fell on the possibility of Transfiguring The Roost into something other than a bar setting and that maybe this could be used for playdates. This would be fun for the kids, it would give us parents a chance to get together while giving the children a new experience and it will give Dominic material for his portfolio.

Would any of you be interested in this? Maybe once or twice (or more) a month?

Oh, you're a dear! It will only be a matter of a couple of hours at most (more likely less), but it would make a great difference.

Private to Dean: I have a 5th year boy, sweet as the day is long. Lives with his great-grandmother in Porthmadog, Wales, so it would be Apparation to get there (or Portkey, if you'd rather), Portkey to Holyhead and then Floo to London.

It looks like I'm not working anyway, so it's not a problem and he sounds great. I'm happy to help.

I'll make myself a note for Monday. No need for a Portkey there, I'm happy to Apparate. And flooing has got to be better than getting across the Underground with my school trunk was!

Like I said: You're a dear! I will let Mark know that you'll be picking him up, and then you can either stop by the office Saturday or I can swing by the pub with the Portkey that will take you to Holyhead and the addresses for both Mark and the nearest Floo to King's Cross that I can make arrangements for.

We always drove, but while 3 trunks in a car was a hassle I was always happy that I didn't have to go there by train.
