Harry & Roger & Quidditch
Who: Harry & Roger
What: Taking in the Quidditch
Where: Kenmare & Puddlemere game
When: Friday Oct 17
Rating: SFW probably?

Harry had called in a couple of favors to get this weekend off, but didn't regret being able to see the Quidditch game with Roger, spend Saturday renovating Grimmauld place and Sunday touring a museum with Ernie. He'd have to work the next weekend, and probably Halloween, but it would be worth it.

He and Roger had agreed to meet at Roger's flat, and then Apparate from there to the stadium, so after agonizing a bit about what to wear--before reminding himself that he wasn't a twelve year old girl on her first date--he Apparated there. Taking a deep breath to settle his stomach, because this wasn't a date no matter how badly he wanted it to be, he knocked on the door.

Roger flopped down on the sofa, and picked up his book. He was glad that he and Harry had decided to go and catch the Puddlemere game today, particularly as he didn't have to play that weekend and the rest of his friends and teammates were busy or working. He also knew that Harry had probably had to juggle a lot of things to get the day off, but that just made it all the more special.

He looked up as the door knocked and smiled, carefully placing a bookmark in his book then bounding down the stairs. "Hey matey," he said, pulling Harry in for a bear hug and leading him up the stairs. "Let m just grab my coat," he added, absently bending over to pick up a stray piece of paper then jogging into his bedroom to grab a peacoat. "Right," he said, walking back into the room. "Let's do this." He offered his arm to Harry and disapparated.

Harry leaned into the hug, pressing his face against Roger's neck with the excuse that the height difference put it at just the right angle. If he happened to get a good whiff of Roger's particular scent, well, that was between him and the late-night fantasies that he definitely didn't have.

"Hey," he said back, voice muffled a bit by Roger's shoulder. And then Roger was pulling away, and Harry tried not to feel too sad about it. He nodded, and if he stood a little too close as they Apparated, well, he didn't want to be Splinched now, did he? He kept his hold on Roger rather longer than necessary after they reappeared, but in his defense he always felt a little shaky after Side-Along when he wasn't the one Apparating. Eventually he had to let go.

"Nice day for Quidditch," he commented as they went through the line to get in.

Roger grinned as Harry held his arm a bit tighter than was normal but he shrugged it off, deciding that Harry probably just didn't want to get splinched or something ridiculous like that. Obviously, Harry had a bit of a crush but as far as Roger could tell it was a generalised crush on most of the fit lads he seemed to have surrounded himself with.

Roger nodded absently, leading the way through the stands and up to the VIP section - being a Quidditch player had some perks after all. He settled down in his seat and looked around. "So, who do you think will win the game eh," he asked as the section began to fill.

"Obviously Puddlemere," Harry replied with a grin. The VIP section was just starting to fill up as they took their seats. "Oliver wouldn't settle for anything less."

There was a bit of time before the game started, so Harry turned in his seat a little so he wasn't talking to the man's head in front of him. "So, how's your week been? Do you get bored when you're on a bye week?"

Roger chuckled good-naturedly. "Yeah I suppose we should support Ollie and all that, just don't tell him I did - it'll make him cry with gratitude and that would just be awkward."

He considered the question for several moments, before shrugging. "It's been okay? They always take the chance to give us a bit of a rest, so that we're in shape for the games the following week. So I haven't done a lot really? Hung out with Marcus and Melinda and Cho at different times, and of course I'm seeing you! Oh and a woman is claiming to have given birth to my lovechild so that's hilarious." He grinned, trying to fight back laughter at the very thought of him somehow fathering a lovechild at all. "How about you?"

"Your secret is safe with me," Harry agreed. "We wouldn't want any awkwardness, would we?" Privately Harry was more worried about Oliver pouting if they dared cheer for any other team; the Wood pout was legendary.

Harry knew it was ridiculous to be jealous that Roger had hung out with his other friends as well, he didn't have a monopoly on Roger's time, but for some reason hearing about Marcus made his stomach clench. Maybe it was the way Roger sounded when he said the other man's name. Shaking away the thoughts, he grinned at the story about the love child.

"Should I start calling you Daddy?" he teased. "Working a lot, as usual, but nothing more exciting than some cold cases. Closed one recently, so that was good."

Roger laughed and clapped Harry on the shoulder genially. Oliver was well known for his pouts, but really, years of association had essentially left Roger completely immune to them. "Don't worry, it can be our dirty little secret."

Roger issued a hugely undignified snort, causing a group of nearby witches to look at him frostily. He lifted his hands in apology at them then turned back to Harry. "The only time anyone's ever called me daddy was in a decidedly sexual manner, young Harry. So of course, go right ahead." He lifted his eyebrow inquiringly. "Oh yeah, anything interesting?"

"We're beginning to have a number of those," Harry teased, though the idea of having 'dirty little secrets' with Roger was more appealing than it should be. "People might start talking."

Harry rolled his eyes when the witches looked away again, though he wondered what sorts of stories they'd be telling their friends later. Embellished ones most likely, about that rude Quidditch Star and Harry Potter. Price of fame, for both of them.

Roger's words caused Harry's face to flame bright red as the implications became clear. "Um, no, I think I'll stick with Roger," he said after a moment, and struggled not to wonder who had called Roger Daddy. "Um, no, just satisfying. It's something I'd been working on for the better part of the last six months, on and off. Can't really say much else." He glanced meaningfully around at the people, some of whom were pretending very hard not to be listening.

Roger grinned and poked Harry in the side. "Of course we are, we're friends! What are friends if not the guardians of skeletons in each other's closets eh," he asked judiciously, a grin still playing across his face. "People can talk all they want," he replied, he smile dropping from his face to be replaced by a more serious expression. "I don't give a toss about what people think except for my family and friends," he said seriously, trying to convey to Harry that yes, he was one of Roger's friends.

He chuckled slightly at the way Harry grew red at the mention of calling Roger daddy. "It's okay Harry, I'd find you calling me daddy extremely weird as well," he admitted blithely. He tilted his head and considered his friend for a long moment before also considering all the people around them. "Fair enough, I won't pry," he promised, just in time for the game to begin. "There's our boy," he said with a smile as Oliver launched himself into the air.

Harry twisted away from Roger, but not without managing to suppress a giggle. It was hardly his fault that he was incredibly ticklish at that spot. "Same. My friends are the only ones I care about what they think of me," he said, just as seriously as Roger.

"Thanks, I'd hate to have to kill you because you knew too much," he whispered, teasingly enough so Roger would know he wasn't serious. He looked towards the field, and cheered loudly when Oliver was announced. "I think he gets better every time I see him."
