RP: A Night In
Who: Lavender Brown, Susan Bones
What: Bitching, probably
Where: Lavender's flat, Camden
When: Thursday
Rating: NSFW - Language

"...and then he started running, which as we both know is my favourite activity in the world ever." Lavender made a gagging noise and finally located where she had stored another bottle of firewhiskey, holding it aloft triumphantly; there hadn't been much left in the bottle that she's already had open, just one slightly stingy measure each. "So I chase him, blah blah blah. He trips over his own bloody feet, falls headfirst into that display of pumpkins outside of Flourish and Blotts, and then starts crying. Apparently he thought I was going to arrest him because he hadn't paid a fine for some Apparation incident a month ago." All Lavender had wanted to do was ask him if he'd seen anything suspicious around Monument Alley.

Lavender sighed, settling herself on the couch next to Susan. "But enough about work. Tell me something interesting."

Susan nodded and grinned. "Well you know there's," she paused to consider possible reasons for splurging and buying her friend a ring for several moments - Lavender's birthday was in May, and Christmas was ages away - and then shrugged. "There's bound to be some sort of reason for me to ask Ophelia to make you one soon," she said gaily.

"They tend to be, which can be really annoying when I don't want them to," she agreed, taking a neat sip of her drink. "Haven't we composed songs about his manpain before? I seem to remember the manpainpocalypse of '02 led us to make some sort of ditty. Regardless, I think he may indeed be soothing his pain with man parts," she added, lifting her brows a couple of times. "With Justin."

"I'm sure I can always think of a reason to buy jewellery," Lavender agreed with a wolfish grin.

Screwing up her face as she tried to remember, Lavender closed. "Yes... I think there was something about hair so pretty and boys in the city. I don't know, something like that." Looking at Susan, Lavender wasn't sure whether to laugh or sigh. "Justin? Really?" After a moment, she admitted, "I don't know whether I'm glad it's him or pissed off because it's someone we socialise with."

Susan grinned and nodded. "Maybe we should go and see Ophelia - for the jewellery of course. She speaks French but her English is great so I'm sure we'd get on."

The rest of the song filtered into Susan's head begrudgingly. "It was hair so pretty like a boy in the city, but ain't it a pity that you're so damn glum! Don't get shitty because you ain't that witty, you're in love boy and you're acting dumb!" She paused and downed her drink. "Imagine all the useful things my brain could have stored if it weren't holding onto that tequila-induced gem." She returned Lavender's glum expression with one of her own. "On the bright side Justin's seen the scar so there won't be all that weirdness going on," she mused, flicking her wand to freshen up her drink and top up Lavender's. "But it's not going to end well and Justin is a dear, ugh men are stupid. Speaking of tell me about Cormac?"

"I'd like that."

As Susan dredged up the lyrics to their awful song from her memory, Lavender was glad that there had been so much tequila consumed that night that neither of them had been able to make up any dance moves. Her lip curled at the mention of Seamus's issues with his scar, but before she could fall into one of her old, bitter thought patterns about how Seamus could at least choose who saw his scar, she took a large gulp of her drink. "Mm. Poor Justin. Poor Ophelia."

Her lips quirked into a sly smile. "Ah, my stupid man." She set down her drink on the table. "He's good. I... feel like it's probably not sensible for me to like him as much as I do, but..." Lavender shrugged, cheeks turning a little pink. "I won him in the raffle and we're going meditating. Can you even imagine?"

Susan winked and nodded. "I thought you would."

She watched Lavender shudder slightly as she sung the words, and she grinned. "We're amazing don't lie," she said with a smile, privately glad that they'd decided to not add a dance routine to the song. She winced slightly at Lavender's face about the mention of the scar. She knew logically that everyone had different ways of dealing with their scars, but she'd always found it slightly poor taste that Seamus was so deeply affected by his easily hidden scars when people like Lav had no choice but to wear theirs with pride. "I know right, everyone involved needs to realise that love triangles are out and ménages à trois are in," she joked, before tilting her head thoughtfully. "Although really they're in more of a rhombus of awkward feelings.

"Oooh you like him," Susan crowed delightedly. "He is hot, you have to admit that. The tall and strapping thing definitely works for him." She laughed slightly at the thought and shook her head. "I saw you winning, and really meditating won't be that bad. Maybe you can do tantric meditation, or add a massage component and massage his prostate with a strap on?"

"We are amazing, I'll give you that." Lavender grinned. "A rhombus of awkward feelings? If e ever write more songs, that'll be the name of our album," she decided.

"I do," Lavender complained, frowning. When all this flirting and admittedly great sex had started, she hadn't thought that she would start having these sorts of feelings. Maybe if they'd just kept it to one night... But they hadn't.

Lavender squirmed a little at Susan's suggestion. Not for the first time, Susan was surprisingly on the money, saying something that Lavender had only thought about doing privately, not to mention fleetingly. "Well, I did see some of those in Quickpulse the other day..." She cleared her throat. "And anyway, I think it's more the yoga sort of meditation. Don't know how I'm going to stay still for that long."

Susan laughed and clapped her hands delightfully. "What would our band be called do you think," she asked, chewing her lip thoughtfully. "The Scary Witches?"

"Well I can relate," she lamented with a shake of her head. "I appear to have feelings for Eddie Carmichael and I have no idea what to with them except have earth shattering sex with him." She pouted and huffed for a moment. "Men are weird, Lav."

She grinned at the way Lavender squirmed and blushed at the mention of it. "Trust me, he'll love it," she said with a wicked little grin. "You wouldn't believe how much big, macho men like getting screwed once they try it. I dated a guy once who used to beg for it every time we went to bed." She made a face at the mention of the yoga, but persevered. "You might surprise yourself, or at least, fall asleep?"

"Hmm." Lavender sipped her drink. "I think we might need to work on that name. We'd need something... Fierce."

Lavender sighed, pressing her lips together in an expression of sympathy. "Men are weird. Feelings are weirder. Mac makes me feel all sort of squishy in here." She gestured at her chest, pouting. "This is why I haven't dated for so long." Not dating saved you from inevitable heartbreak.

She started giggling. "I'll take your word for it. And... maybe bring it up with him." Lavender was sure she wouldn't fall asleep during the meditation, but how was she ever going to concentrate when Cormac's fit body was going to be doing all sorts of delicious stretching right by her?

"What, like the Black Widows or something like that," Susan quipped. "Actually that would be a pretty cool band name."

She morosely sipped her drink for a second, then forced herself to snap out of her funk and smile at her friend. "Men and feelings are totally weird right? Men always harp on about how women are so mysterious and hard to understand, but I reckon men are just as weird." She smiled and reached across to squeeze Lavender's hand. "You deserve all the squishy feelings, Lav. All of them. Plus you know dating someone who knows his way around a broom must be fun?"

"You should, I bet he'd love it! He may even have had uh, stimulation applied in that area before," she said, glancing through her lashes with a wicked expression. "I'm sure you can always complain of a stomach ache and then go and let Mac flip you on your stomach?"

"So totally weird." Men were such bizarre creatures, romantic feelings even more so. "But it's been fun so far, yes. Very fun. But it sounds like you and Eddie are having fun too."

Lavender smirked at Susan's wicked expression. She'd never discussed such a thing with Cormac, but she knew a little of his reputation. "I would not be surprised if he had," she said carefully, trying not to laugh. "Well, I've paid good money for this date. I should probably see it though." She grinned. "Then we can go back to his and he can flip me any way he wants." Though if they kept talking about this, Lavender would be sorely tempted to kick Susan out and Floo Mac right away. Of course, if she did that, Susan would probably still want all the juicy details next time she saw her.

Susan nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah we have been... I don't know really. He was over before they went to Indonesia and he admitted that he has feelings for me, but we haven't found the time to actually talk about it yet which is a bit stressful in itself."

She laughed throatily and nodded. "I've heard all sorts of interesting things, but then you know me: I don't give a damn about someone's sexual activities as long as they're legal and not with the person I'm sleeping with." She paused and considered Lavender for a moment then grinned again. "You certainly did, and hey, maybe you just need to screw his brains out a lot before the fact and then you may be able to focus on 'cleansing your aura' or whatever."

"Well, knowing you, you won't rest until you have some answers, so I'm sure the two of you will talk about it soon."

She put down her empty glass. "Well, here's hoping that the men in our lives sort their shit out and make us happy women."
