Why have I never spent time in Muggle libraries before? They have so many books on things I've never thought to ask in Muggle Studies. And they have computing devices with access to the 'internet' which has even more information from all over the world in every language imaginable. There must be some way for this technology to function in a magical environment.

After a few hours' exploration around other countries of the Commonwealth, I think I would like to visit Ottawa some day. It looks quite charming, and the Canadian parliament buildings are quite frankly beautiful in architecture. Not to mention it has some excellent resources to use in my 'alternate Muggle identity'.

[Private to Oliver and Penelope]

All right, all my ducks are in a row. I've done the research. I've spoken with Mum and she's ecstatic at the chance to spend more time with Lucy. I'm going to speak with Kingsley tomorrow and give him the news that I'm taking the position.

I spoke with Lucy tonight and she was torn, but I think in the end she understood. This is going to tear me apart, not being able to be with her during weekdays, but I think it's for the best in the end. I suppose I need to learn to let her go a little at the beginning so it isn't as hard when she's eleven and going to Hogwarts.

Merlin, I'm really doing this, aren't I. Work as a Muggle. Have I gone mad?

I would be what? I would be, as in I exist? Obviously, Cogito ergo sum. If you're referring to my being in favour of muggle libraries, what's not to enjoy; an open, fair place where knowledge is freely transferred irrespective of background, age or wealth.

You're acting like there are no wizarding libraries. There are, and they're better than the muggle ones in so many ways - for example, we can have more books in less space. Hover charms and such are marvellous things, don't you think?

But you say "I'm a huge proponent of muggle libraries" as if they're something new and innovative. They're not. They're merely substandard imitations of something wizards had already done, better.

This is the problem with this intermingling of cultures. Too many wizards act like what muggles have is somehow better, more useful, simpler, when the truth is that they're scrambling to find roundabout ways to do the things we do with magic. That doesn't make them better or more interesting than us.

Catch me dead driving one of those godawful automachines down a road surrounded by a hundred other automachines, stuck in a queue when I could just Floo somewhere, or Apparate. Catch me dead using a bloody magnowave to make food when I can wave my bloody wand at it.

I'm sorry, where did you say your library card was for?

Also, we call those 'automachines' cars, muggles use microwaves for cooking and no I wouldn't suggest waving your wand at either a microwave or one of the pre-packaged food meant for it. You would likely end up with an inedible mess on your hands.

Oh I don't need a library card! I have money.

I also don't have to cook my own food. But despite your attempted derailment of my point, it still stands. This muggle library isn't special, and it's ludicrous to pretend like it is.

How lovely for you dear.

Have you ever been in a muggle library or are you basing your opinion on pure speculation?

I spent enough time pretending that anything muggles do is worthwhile while I was at Hogwarts that I may never feel clean again. I don't have to swim in pig muck to know it's dirty.

You might want to have another scrub because you missed a spot. Right..there. There, did you spot it? Your foundless, baseless prejudice is showing and..its got an unpleasant scent to it.

Trust me darling, after subjecting myself to conversing with the likes of you, a long hot shower is definitely on the cards.

Do you know what kills me about you? Muggleborn. You had the world, our world, handed to you on a silver bloody platter, and you just... piss it up against the wall. You're so ungrateful.

It's been a while since I've how did you put it, pissed up a wall. Given I've got firm roots in this world, a steady job, a career I love and am very, very good at it what exactly did I do to throw it away?

Please, enlighten me. It's been ages since anyones tried to tell an entire swathe of the population how to act. I bet they're nostalgic for the 'good old days'.

That's it? I leave the field wide open for you and you resort to a comeback that my three year old little cousin would use?

My mistake. I expected more from you. It won't be an error I make twice.

You assume that my refusal to continue engaging in this ridiculousness is a win for you. It isn't. It's a win for my sanity.
