Entry tags:character: adrian pucey, character: gemma farley, status: complete

RP: Deliveries
Who: Gemma and Adrian
What: Adrian drops off Gemma's latest orders at her salon after hours.
Where: Hardd Knut
When: 9pm or so
Rating: SFW

Adrian came to the staff door of the Hardd Knut and knocked hard, knowing they'd been closed for nearly two hours now, but figuring if he'd missed her he could always come by tomorrow.

While he waited for the door to open, laden down with potions and ingredients for her and for the salon, he mentally began to plan Wednesday with Alicia and her twins. Isla would want to fly with him, since he was the less cautious adult, and Liam would probably want to go with Alicia. But he'd bring lots of bad-for-them pastries and get them all hopped up on sugar, so it would be a fun day for all either way.

Finally, he heard something in the back of the shop and schooled his features. He appreciated his business with Gemma, but knew better than stand there grinning like an idiot and fantasizing about a day on a broom when he was going into business with her.

Gemma had just been getting out of her bathtub - even with so many potions and charms at her disposal, little was as relaxing as a nice, long bath - when the knock came from downstairs. There were spells in place to carry the sound up to her flat above the shop as often some of her businesses required her to work odd hours. She grabbed a satin robe and tied it loosely over her freshly bathed body so that it covered the essential bits but left plenty for the eye to behold. If she was lucky, then it just might be a beauty in need of a woman's touch...

Unfortunately, it was just Adrian.

She leaned back against a counter, her legs fully revealed by the part in her robe as she pulled out her wand to spell the door open.

"You're late," she said. They both knew it, and she was not a woman that wise men kept waiting. But then, she did need these potions, and if a little show of power on his part was what it took to make a deal, then so be it.

Adrian shrugged, "I had some late pick ups," he didn't mind if she was upset with him, figuring this was a mutually agreeable deal either way.

He followed her into the room and took a look up and down her - Adrian knew not to bother hitting on her, but she was still a very good looking woman after all - "Hope I didn't interrupt anything?" He asked, a grin stopping his almost-chuckle.

"Is that what they're calling them these days?" Her eyebrow arched up almost in time with the corner of her lips. She didn't really care what his reasons were, but she was certainly due some amusement after the long day of work.

She could practically feel his eyes on her, where she figured they would be. Men - those who were attracted to women, that is - could be so easy to manipulate, or at least become 'friendly' with, as long as one had the right equipment. "Oh, I don't allow myself to be interrupted. I'm always exactly where I need to be, and I'd never leave a lover hanging for a delivery. Are you disappointed? Perhaps you'd hoped you could watch?"

She reached behind a counter and retrieved a small box, a certain item Adrian had wanted in exchange for the potions she had ordered. Favours for favours, bartering for supplies, was a great way to fluff up her bottom line. "You have my potions?"

Adrian smirked, "I do actually have a business to run. And I have no doubt that you wouldn't be down here if it wasn't exactly where you wanted to be. I know better."

On her dig, he thought for a moment and then shook his head, "Watching isn't any fun when there's no hope of participating." He gave her a smile. "It's good to see you though, the salon doing well?"

"Yes, I do, they're all here," he procured a sack from his larger satchel and set them gingerly next to her on a counter. "And do you have my orders?" He appreciated Gemma's ability to get things that he couldn't order under his own name, keeping the family safe and his business in tact as well.

"Doing pretty well, yes - all those years of learning beautifying charms is finally coming in handy," she replied with a smile of her own. "And all these new professionals are finding themselves in need of a destressor every now and then, so the new market is full of opportunity."

She placed the box in her hands on the counter right next to the satchel, then gently pushed it forward toward Adrian. "Right here, as promised. Take a look and tell me if it's what you needed, or else I'll have to have a word with my 'supplier'."

Adrian shook his head, "Not that you ever needed them, you've been a bombshell since before girls were turning into ladies, and you know it," she did have a natural, feral beauty to her which Adrian could respect even if he knew neither of them would ever try anything (her because of preference, him because of self-preservation).

"You know, I should send a couple of my patients over here for those destressors you mention, some of them could use it," he rolled his eyes, thinking of Cho Chang's high strung demands and abundance of energy.

Giving her a nod he opened the box and found a vial of thick purple liquid - nearly a gel. Phoenix blood. Rare, dangerous to find and travel with, and of course illegal. But necessary in a couple of potions Adrian was experimenting on. The small vial, barely 3ml, but it had cost him Gemma's entire summer's worth of potions. Worth every bit if his hunch was at all right of course.

Looking up he nodded once, affirmatively. "This looks right. Of course, if I blow up in the next few days, you'll know why and can have your words." With a cheeky grin he headed back to the door, "Sorry I was late, but at least I'm a quicky, right?" Tilting his chin toward the sack he'd left for her he said, "Let me know if anything's not right, but I get the feeling I know your types by now. Fall orders should be going up soon. I can let you know if I need anything coming up?"

"In that we're very much alike, since I doubt you use most of the potions you make on a regular basis. But you know your market, as do I." She shrugged nonchalantly, but was interested by the idea of him sending customers her way. "By all means, send them over. You know I'll treat them well." Because they were money in her eyes.

She opened the satchel before her and checked the supplies within - it was exactl what she had ordered. As usual, Pucey had kept to his end of the bargain, and Gemma kept to hers. There was a certain honour among thieves (for want of a better term), was there not? "As long as you leave me something in your will, I'll be sure to say good things at your funeral," she said with a chuckle. "But yes, let me know if you need anything before I put in my next order. It's always a pleasure doing business with you, Adrian."

Adrian cocked his head in agreement and answered, "Must take care of like minded individuals after all," and then opened the door.

"I'll be in touch," though he never told Gemma why he needed certain things - and she never asked, which he appreciated - he always got her his orders on time. "Good doing business, as always, Ms. Farley." He said briefly before heading out and back down Monument Alley and home.
