Entry tags:ooc: character introductions

Hallo guys!

DCJ (21+, GMT, also playing Theodore Nott at [info]nottfinished) bringing you Merwyn Finwick AKA Finn

Finn is a 25 year old, 1997 Ravenclaw grad - he used to be famous for being the Keeper for the Tutshill Tornados out of Hogwarts, but now he's famous for dropping out of the sky mid-game against the Ballycastle Bats with narcolepsy and then being dropped

Now he parties all his money away and is this close to being kicked out of his flat for not being able to pay the rent. He's surrounded by fairweather friends and he's often at Finnigan's getting drunk and paying for everyone's drinks

He's got a whole load of plot lines in his app, but I'm open for all and any plots :)

Thanks kittens!

Poor guy! He looks interesting, though.

Melinda was in the same year and house as him and considering her, she wouldn't be a fairweather friend, rather one to take care of him if he needed it. If you're interested, she could use some help in Sweet Nothings, ie a job for him, though wether it be as a barrista or cleaning crew or baking or selling, that's entirely up to you. She'd teach him.

Don't know if he would know Alicia but I'm sure she would know of him since she was working for the Pride at the time he played. Also, she can heal up anything pretty perfectly ;)

Let me know if anything strikes your fancy :)

That would be brilliant! We can absolutely set that up after he loses his place? He'll be hitting bottom enough to realise he needs help, but do expect him to worry about falling asleep in dough

That would be cool! I'd like him to reconnect with other Quidditch players; he's very embarassed and ashamed about what happened

<3 you do! lol

I say we definitely at least try it out, and if he's too worried about falling asleep in dough, there are plenty of other things he can do :) They can work things out so it works the best for both of them (and right now, pretty much any position being filled is best for Melinda).

Well, Alicia has her routine in Monument Alley, so she's pretty easy to get a hold of, and that way it shouldn't be too difficult to make some sort of connection there.

Hee! Charmer! :D

Harry - Probably doesn't know him well, but would be friendly!

Lisa - She might remember him from Hogwarts, but she's not a Quidditch follower so probably doesn't know him well

Pansy - She could possibly be a source for a job? At least contacts...she specializes in lost causes, and Merwyn is the definition of a lost cause.

Harry! Probably not, I'd like to throw them together though :)

Lisa! Again with the throwing! lol

Pansy! She could do, although he doesn't think his name or face attached to ANYTHING will sell

1. It amuses me probably more than it should that, thanks to Merwyn, the entire third row of the cast table is 'Sexuality: Homosexual'. Might not stay that way for long, but it's amusing while it lasts.

2. Seamus will know him from the pub, though I can't really see them getting on as friends what with Merwyn's exterior act. Maybe he's come on to Seamus a little too strong in the past, making Seamus uncomfortable? (If he's the type to make the first moves.) That could be fun. Seamus doesn't do casual sex but sometimes really wishes he could.

3. Dominic will also know him from the pub, possibly from decorating The Roost for his parties? He'd be more open to falling into bed with Merwyn, but again he likes real conversation and to be interested in a person before he sleeps with them so maybe not.

4. Lucy won't know him, wouldn't be particularly impressed by his Tutshill career if she did meet him but would be nice to him if he were being a bit more real. But she'll also (eventually, probably) be looking for a job. They could be rival interviewees!

1. Heh heh heh, dude, Dumbledore should have been out, it would have helped all GBLT teens in Hogwarts

2. Yeah, I think he probably has, probably drunk and with one eye closed -.o 'you're hot, fuck me' - not particularly romantic

3. Merwyn doesn't think he has any personality, so if they did fall into bed together he'd be scrabbling around to hide that fact. He'd probably like Dominic and would try and avoid him so as to stop him being tarred with Merwyn's brush

4. It's sad, he doesn't know how to be real anymore. But that would be cool!

Ugh I loooove him! I've played a Brevis Birch kid that is gay so that makes my head canon heart lol. Anywaaaayy

Oliver is a fellow rival Keeper. I think he could be a better friend than Finn might expect. He would know something about people losing their ability to play since his younger brother dealt with that and Oliver helped him through as best he could. He'd be willing to just listen to his woes, and he'd also be welcome to crash on his couch a while, though fair warning, his flat is small and little gross and contains no windows. Oliver puts all his money in a Gringott's vault and other than broom wax and firewhiskey its a mystery what he spends it on, since it certainly isn't housing.

Astoria wouldn't know him from school, and I don't know that she'd approach him much at Finniagns-she liked Quidditch though she they could talk that? If he shopped in the store there might be that but idek? Randoms possible!

Megan would talk to anyone, and godddd does she know about shitty relationships. They should get drunk and rando confess to all that shiz I don't even knoowwwww but she'd at least be open minded and kind.

Squee! I've just pimped for Brevis Birch in the wanted ads lol, but IDK if their rship would be smooth sailing or even friendly

I think Oliver would be really good for him. He wouldn't mind a little grungy sofa to sleep on once he finds he's homeless. He expects other Quidditch players to be derisive and to make fun of him so he might be suspicious at first, but he has no friends so it'd be easy for him to cling to Oliver once he gets over that

Randoms good for Astoria! I think he'd be a bit cringy if she tried to talk about Quidditch though

That would be awesome, he's usually always drunk so that makes sense :) lol

Heya.

Dean would probably remember him playing at school, but not have followed his career enough to be too familiar. The loud and partying thing will not endear him either. I'm sure he'll know him from the pub, even if Dean does work more day shifts than night ones. Socially speaking he'd probably avoid him I'm afraid.

Blaise probably didn't pay him much attention other than when they were on the pitch together.

I picture Hermione notices his studying in early years when he was still focused that way. She will be friendly even if she doesn't approve of is drinking everything away.

Finn will likely avoid him and/or try to get him into bed (ha)

Bless her, he'll probably feel bad for being drunk around her

Just so you know Blaise doesn't play that game and won't take kindly to it. He respects that decision for others but does not desire to have any part of it himself.

Hermione will help him with whatever legal struggles he's having and work to get him help for both the narcolepsy and the alcoholism.

That's cool, I imagine that Finn gets that a lot; he tends to 'swing at every ball' and he's gotten into trouble for it in the past too

She's a sweetheart, he'll try and pull away from her so that he doesn't cause a bother

Well Blaise swings back and I'm quite certain it's not in a way Finn will enjoy.

Have you not met Hermione? When she sets a goal it happens.

Hey! I think Merwyn is adorable!

Ernie: Would be totes sympathetic and friendly - you know how Ernie is.

Percy: If Merwyn needs a job and is competent, there's always an opening in Broom Regulation Control ;)

Gemma: Will be pissed he lost her money, for sure!

Aww sankyuu!

Errrniieeee! Merwyn might try and get him into bed - sorry!

See above re: bed - I don't know, he might try and apply and see how far he gets but he's so hung up on being useless because of his 'condition' that he might sabotage himself before he gets a chance to actually give it a go

YAY!!! :D He'll be sorry :( lol

Ernie: Isn't Ernie's head big enough already? :-p Ernie would welcome the attention, for sure, but he'd be majorly concerned with the drinking and would probably go all healer on him.

Percy: I can totally see that, poor thing, and Percy isn't exactly the most patient.

*hugs*

Hey DCJ! Yay Merwyn!

Hannah - She would be friendly and depending on how drunk he gets, she'll try to make sure he doesn't get alcohol poisoning. She tends to mother people like that.

Logan - He's two years younger, but was a beater for Ravenclaw (and they thought he would go pro before the Final Battle) so it's entirely possible they knew each other/were friendly. I'm open for both/either/anything!
