Hi sweet kittens of this lovely game

I'm DCJ (21+, GMT) who plays Theodore Nott over on nottfinished and has now been allowed to overhaul and reintroduce Merwyn Finwick

Merwyn is 25, former Ravenclaw of '97 and former Keeper for the Tutshill Tornados. He's also narcoleptic, which is why he was kicked off the team and out of the relationship he was in with Brevis Birch (now wanted).

Anyone who knew him through school would have known him as Marian - he was born female but transitioned to male, starting when he was 13 and legally becoming Merwyn Joseph Finwick in 1997 when he was 18, just before he joined the Tornados. I'm not sure how many people know about that, but his face is still the same kind of pretty.

He's been living beyond his means on the money he made while he was playing Pro-Quidditch but that's rapidly running dry. He keeps insisting on flying even with his narcolepsy and he's also been admitted to hospital for 'accidental' self-injury before too. His money is coming to an end, so he's going to be losing his home and most of his fair-weather friends once that goes.

I'm looking for friends (true or only around for the cash), people who lost money betting on his Quidditch games and want payback, old team members and Quidditch players who might have known him, fuck-buddies, drinking-buddies, dorm-buddies and House-buddies. Someone who knew him/crushed on him while he was a girl and meets up again now would be interesting, as would one of his first crushes who was a Durmstrang participant in the Triwizard Tournament (he ran out on the guy in question, mid transition and still living as a girl, so that might be awkward) and Brevis Birch would make all my Christmasses in June.

Blaise likely didn't pay any attention to Marian and likely only knows Merwyn by name.

Marietta would have been dorm mates with Marian and has likely wondered what happened to her. She was a bit preoccupied with her own woe is me as the years wound down so maybe a "Hey you look familiar" run in would be nice for them to connect on this new level.

Hermione didn't really know her (now him) in school other than possibly in passing. She'd honestly assume that anyone that hasn't returned was lost during the war and not something she'd address. Any interaction would be treated as a new introduction.

Hi friend. Here are some thoughts.

Dean: Might vaguely remember Marian from school, but probably not really and unlikely to make the connection given the war and its immediate aftermath for him. Tornados aren't his team, but he'll know of the problems Merwyn had because he follows it. He'll have likely served him in the pub, and says a. he's beautiful and b. he wants to draw him. If he did wind up drawing him more than idly (which he's likely done by this point) there's a small chance he might make the connection that he wasn't assigned male at birth due to proportions but likely wouldn't say anything. Definitely wouldn't care. Outside of polite barman he's not likely to be friends, I get the impression Merwyn can be loud and Dean isn't in favour of that.

Angie: Is a year older but played against Marian at school so remembers her and might well have guessed at a connection if there wasn't the kerfuffle with Quidditch. She is an avid Tornados fan so would have followed Merwyn's woes from New Zealand. He's faded a little from memory in more recent years, especially with her being half a planet away, but I think she'd want to make friends. She does want to make friends with most people though.

Charlie: Too old to have known him at school so a faint memory of him on the Tornadoes lineup only (he was in Romania after all). He'd be friendly. If Merwyn was at Wingbeat he'd stop people giving him shit if they did. On a related to Charlie but not from him because he has no clue note, there is a gender neutral (and disabled) loo on each floor of the club if he prefers it.

Gwenog: Is old, gives no fucks. Thinks he's hot but stupid for continuing flying given his condition. Played against him, appreciated his skills. Would probably flirt if they came across each other off the pitch. They could have had sex if you'd like. She mostly does one offs.

CUTE! I mean, hi!

DEANIO: Merwyn can definitely be loud - he needs gagging. But he'd go all bashful and shy if Dean wanted to draw him, and he'd absolutely let him - he might try flirting with him a little though, just because that's what he does and he might take the interest in drawing him as interest in doing more

ANGIE: They can absolutely make friends, it's pretty easy for anyone who wants to befriend Merwyn to do so. It'd be fun if she susses out that he used to be Marian

CHARLIEBOY!: He'd absolutely go to Wingbeat and club it up, but he might end up being sobered up and escorted out :s He parties too hearty. And that is adorable! I think he might use the boy's room, but who knows, he might forget himself and slip in there

GWENOG!: lol, bless. He is stupid, he'll be ashamed if she tells him so but he'll go ahead and do it anyway. I think he probably has a lot of respect for her as a player and a person - he probably gushed a lot about her in interviews and what not. Merwyn is gay, BUT, it is Gwenog - what do you think about a bit of femme-domme pegging action? In all seriousness, there's no real way to ask that without sounding flippant :s

I don't know that Dean has asked particularly, just drawn him when he's in the pub at the same time, but we could explore that. And he'd be happy to explain the disconnect between the wanting to draw someone and wanting to flirt thing. One does not necessarily imply the other. Beautiful man or not. Plus he's hopelessly gone for Seamus so it definitely wouldn't be going anywhere.

She might suss it out given time, but yes, it'd be nice for her to find new friends. If she eventually works out the connection though that could be interesting. Might take her a while. How observant she is can be rather hit and miss!

Ah yes, being fed bread and water. Fun times. Yeah, the assorted staff do that for people when necessary. If it happened too often Charlie might institute a short ban, or some sort of 'don't serve him too many drinks' thing. For someone who worked with dragons he's a surprisingly responsible bastard. And Merwyn can use whichever bathroom he feels most comfortable with, it was just a note on one of the things I worked out when you were taking a break. There's a post about the club layout on Charlie's page.

Gwenog doesn't pull her punches too often, or at least not much, so she'd probably outright tell him at some point. I may have not read the bit where he's gay. Oops. However a. you're right there is no way for that to not sound flippant, but b. she's very much for it. She has (and probably will again) slept with people of various genders and in one night stands especially she's very much pro being in control. Plus she has the strap-on (and quite a lot of other gear besides)!

Oh that sneaky Dean! He can draw him in secret to his little heart's content, but if Merwyn finds out then he'd dfeinitely be all *flirt on* - silly boy, Dean&Seamus OTP!

That's cute, I don't mind but I'd love for them to be friends, even if it does make him miss playing.

Heee. Although that is mildly creepy.

Eh, he's not so much sneaky as generally plonked in a corner reading or sketching at least a couple of evenings a week.

Angie is somewhat of a loveable dork with a case of potty mouth and questionable filter engagement.

Charlie objects to being called an adorable baby by anyone. But there can be some sort of drink limit happening, or instituted in the future.

I think at some point in the last yearish. Not mid March-April this year because of her injury but otherwise timewise I'm pretty flexible. But I could go for a thread. :)

Short cause I'm tired and probably going to go pass out.

Tristan: Same year and house in school. He was prefect and head boy. Would remember him more because he's got an eidetic memory than because they've been close the past years since Tristan was in jail from 1998/199 until Halloween 2004. Involved with DEs since 1997 so not a lot of time for listening to/going to Quidditch matches. Most likely of mine to know him either way, at least from past.

Zacharias: Dunno. Replied to open thread. Nothing happened. Assume he's just glad Merwyn's no longer playing because seriously. Is glad he doesn't bet on Quidditch, though.

Astoria: Does not know him outside of media.

All: Available for plotting and random interaction.

TRISTAN!: I love people who knew him when he was she back in the past, and I think he might recall him as head boy and prefect. I'd love to put them together, though IDK if his exuberant personality might be a bit much for Tristan? He'd want to bring him out of himself a little though

ZACH: I'm so sorry about that, I completely lost track of him and I feel bad about flaking. He's a complete reboot here, but I'm happy to repost (I think I might need to tweak it a little) if you'd like to? Or we could try something new? I'm a dick, I'm so sorry. Merwyn likes him though, cute little blond thing :)

It's cool. I'm always tired anymore and pillows are nice.

Tristan does work at Wingbeat, so there paths have probably crossed. He used to tend the bar and could have cut him off, but he works as the cloakroom attendant now. Exuberant personalities, in general, are not too much for him. He just might not be particularly exuberant himself at times.

I've actually hurt my finger somehow, which makes typing difficult, so it may be better to email about it or something? Ultimately, I think he'd have just found someone to help Merwyn, like gotten him some water and seen about contacting a friend or family member who could take him home safely (since Zacharias wouldn't have known where he lived lol). But yay for liking him! lmao :)

She does seem good for random interactions!

	I think Merwyn would have liked hanging out with him at Quidditchy press things and parties and what not - he will likely have flirted with him hard though, especially if he was drunk, as he ticks all the boxes for Merwyn's type, so sorry about that!
