Hey all! I'm Jaime, really excited for the game, and bringing you "Ernie MacMillan.

Ernie's a healer, a genial and all-around-good bloke, loves to make people laugh yet can be professional at the drop of a hat. He loves his house-mates, but also has many friends outside of it (DA and non-DA). Most of him can be found in his bio, so feel free to take a peek and poke me with plottage.

(P.S. Sorry I originally posted this to the rpg comm - stupid work laptop!)

Hey there! I'm Tina, Adi's human in Boston.

Adrian's the local potionsmaster so surely they know each other, either from the hospital or from personal business :)

Adi is very gruff and quiet and probably doesn't like blond & smile-y & polite & pretty Ernie very much, but he doesn't really like anyone very much, and he's very business-like (so he'd never come off as not liking Ernie, just grumpy) so I hope Ernie doesn't take anything too personally!

Am cool with them knowing each other, and don't worry, Ernie doesn't take much personally - you be rude to him and he just tries harder to put a smile on your face (yes, he's annoying like that). Could be an interesting dynamic, actually!

Hi again!

Not to worry, you're not the first to post to the wrong comm, and you're most likely not the last to do so. I think we've all been there before (says the player who posted her intro post to Ali's journal 2 times before she got it to the ooc comm).

For Ali and Ernie there is of course the Healer thing they have in common, but also dancing! She loves to dance, and were sent to dance school by her mum when she showed a liking for sports, so anyone who can dance, is good in her book :)

Hey (will respond to both responses in one). No worries about the different healer training, I bet they can still talk shop when you get them both in a room (and others, don't get them started on their ugliest cases!). And yay for dancing! For example, if Alicia ever wants to make anyone jealous, feel free to pull Ernie onto a dance floor - he'll make her look gorgeous ;)

They can always talk shop and cooperate on patching people up after Duelling Club. Ooh, or talk horror cases while doing so :D

Ali's not really one to play with other people's feelings, but she IS one to enjoy having a good dancer around, whether or not she's trying to impress someone. Still, who's she to turn down an offer of looking gorgeous?

Sounds good! I'd hoped Ern could be involved in the duelling club as a healer.

No worries, was just teasing with that, but I'm sure Ern knows by now she can cut a rug too, so heads straight for her when the music starts.

With both of them probably having irregular schedules, they can cover as needed and cooperate when the schedules allow it.

With Ali's life being the way it is (single mum, work and the charity) it's no wonder she loves to dance: someone else is in control. And who could possibly turn down someone like Ernie? :)

Hi Jaime. I'm Caroline, I bring you Dean. His plotty post will go up in a little bit.

Since Dean works at the pub he'll probably see him there and he goes to Battlescars (although of course that's confidential). As for their past they were both DA members so they'll know each other a bit from that.

He does have to go to St Mungo's from time to time for a review of his potions but he's unlikely to go near the upper floors.

Hey Caroline! I just read Dean's intro so I'll comment here instead of both places.

I love Dean! Ernie will definitely be one of the many who swears up and down that Dean and Seamus are together - and probably credits their 'example' for encouraging him to come out to his own family. He's friendly, so he's ever there for your healing needs.

No worries about not going up to Janus Thickey - Ernie's used to not having too many familiar visitors up there. Though if Dean ever wants to do lunch when he's around, let me know and Ernie's there.

I know I read Ernie's full profile but I can't remember the timing of his coming out, but neither Dean or Seamus came out until a while post Battle. You'd have to consult Kaylie on Seamus but Dean's was probably a year or so later. Although they were pretty inseparably friendly before so barring Dean dating Ginny that probably didn't and doesn't help the general impression.

I honestly don't think it would occur to Dean to ask Ernie to lunch, he can tend to avoid people especially if he's doing something that makes him feel vulnerable like a potions review, but you never know. If Ernie happens to be on his way out to lunch and walking out at the same time as Dean... that could make it happen.

Ah, okay - i wasnt sure about the timing of the "everyone thinks theyre together" - is my bad! Ernie would have been outish to Puffs in his year and maybe to some DA members in 7th year, but came out to his folks after the war.

All right, got it :) we'll see when the game starts. Let me know if Ernie can help with any plottage!

Nah, that's okay. I wasn't exactly specific with timing. They really have always been close so with their current behaviour people might assume their whatever has been going on longer. I see you worked some timing out with Kaylie too though. :D

I'd like them to run into each other at the hospital at some point, it could be fun. Need Dean to stop acting like a hermit reluctantly pulled out into the world as he sometimes does.

Ernie would totally not let Dean be a hermit, and I'd be happy to play it out at the hospital, etc. Will definitely be fun!

Hullo! (She says, as if she didn't welcome you to the game herself.) I am your ridiculously-giddy-first-time-mod Kaylie. I've got three characters so I shall take them in order of how long they've known Ernie.

1. Lucy Spinks was in Ernie's year in Hufflepuff so they've known each other since they were tiny 11 year olds together. Though, Lucy pretty much disappeared after 6th year and never got back in touch. She hasn't actually been to Finnigan's yet. Someone annonymously sent her a journal so she'll be getting back into the wizarding world and having lots of reunions.

2. Seamus, obviously. Would have known Ernie vaguely from classes and things until seventh year when they were in the DA together, fighting at the battle together etc. Brothers in arms, essentially. And Seamus is close to Susan, so I'd like it if he and Ernie were also good friends.

3. Dominic Chambers was a Ravenclaw, the year below Ernie. He was on the Quidditch team. I don't know if they'd have known one another at school, but he's around Finnigan's a lot doing the charms on the upstairs room, etc. So if Ernie has been coming to the pub for a while they probably sort of know each other.

Hey Kaylie! Nice to meet you.

Lucy: Definitely will know each other. If Lucy wants a friendly Puff to contact for her return to the wizard world, feel free to use Ernie - how could anyone forget him?!

Seamus: Definitely brothers at arms, and I'd love them to be friends. After what I read from Dean's bio, I believe Ernie's been convinced forever that Dean and Seamus are together (which would be an excellent reason why he's never thought to try his luck with either of them) and credits their 'example' with giving him the courage to come out to his folks. He probably makes comments now and again of a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" variety because he's a bloody hopeless romantic.

Dominic: Probably wouldn't have known each other much at school, but I can already see that Ernie's fast considering Finnigan's as a home away from home, so they'd have met since going there (plus, Ernie wants to help be one of the healers for the duelling club!).

Lucy's not really looking to contact anyone, but they can certainly run into each other. The more old friends she finds, the more likely she is to keep coming back - which is kind of the point.

Already, I love the idea of Seamus and Dean's friends being hopeless romantics and assuming the two of them are supposed to be together (or assuming they already are). Seamus would have come out a few months after he got out of hospital. Maybe Ernie was one of the first people he told, especially if he already knew Ernie was gay. How would Ernie feel about skinny dipping? I'm trying to build up a comprehensive list of who's seen the full extent of Seamus's scar.

Yes, Ernie can have patched Dominic up a few times. He's not as reckless with his physical wellbeing as Seamus is, but sometimes his imagination or ambition gets the best of him and he fails a spell, leaving him open to his opponent's attack.

Lucy: No worries! I'm open for a run-in whenever you are :-p

Seamus: Seamus would have known about Ernie by then - his parents were actually some of the last to know (Puffs a nd DA first), so he'd have been happy to be able to relate on a new level. Re: Skinny Dipping - with total strangers, Ernie wouldn't, but with a friend, he might be initially hesitant for a few moments but easily talked into it.

Dominic: sounds good!

Skinny dipping would definitely have been among friends. Either just Seamus and Ernie or maybe Seamus, Ernie and Susan if they both came down to visit him around the same time (since they both went back to school after the battle, they could have come down during a holiday or something).

Sounds like a plan then! Which means Seamus would know of Ernie's tattoo. And suffice it to say that Ernie peeked, but he was subtle about it! *whistles innocently*

Somehow, without intending to, I have made The Wizarding Tattoo RPG. We have Seamus and Ernie with phoenix tattoos, Susan with an elm tree, Alicia with her non-magical swallow & heartbeat.

And hey, if Ernie was peeking at something other than the scar, I think that could have been reassuring for Seamus! Like, hey, my body is not completely repulsive to guys now, that's good. This lesson sadly didn't stick much...

Hi! I'm the ridiculously-new-to-all-this Dylan - friend of Kaylie and player of Susan!

Since Ernie and Susan were school buddies and DA buddies I'm thinking we'll have plenty of plot stuff to work with? She's also close to Seamus and Dean and fought in the battle, so there'd be Battlescars as well and basically HI!

Hey Dylan! Welcome to rping!

Yay to fellow Hufflepuff!!! I always saw the bunch as being close, but I'd love to hear your take on them. I'm at work at the moment so I haven't had a chance to read her bio yet - will do when I'm home tonight! Am very much up to plottage :D

Okay, have had a chance to read her bio and she's a kick-arse auror Hufflepuff! Ernie would be so happy and proud of her :D

Definitely friendship (since age 11 at least), and would Susan have been of the cuddlepile sort? Ernie's definitely affectionate, loves giving hugs and cuddling in a platonic fashion (and non-platonic with the right sorts of blokes). They both seem very professional in their approach to work, very hard-working. Sue would know his secrets, for sure - hell, maybe she had the auror instincts early and figured out his secrets before he told her or figured them out himself!

Am open to much plottage and general friendship wonderfulness :D

Excellent! I really wanted Susan to be a kickass Hufflepuff who will be aggressively just and loyal because that makes for a really interesting dynamic.

Oh dude, Susan would have been TOTALLY involved in the cuddle pile. She's tactile and affectionate but also a bit of a flirt so you know, a cuddle pile has all sorts of interesting possibilities.

I like the idea of like fourth of fifth year Susan and Ernie having a conversation along the lines of:
"You're staring again you know," Susan said archly.
"What? No I'm not," Ernie said, flushing and looking away from the group of Quidditch players.

Or something like that.

But yes, send me an email if you like and we can PLOT.
