Hello All!

I'm Lis and I am new here. I bring you Draco Malfoy who is in the process of opening Astro Apothecary after returning from travelling the world.

I am open to any and all plots and looking forward to playing with you all.

Apologies for the late introduction - I went away for the weekend and had no internet connection.

Welcome! I'm Jasmine, and I have four, some of whom will concern your Draco :)

Firstly is Pandora Montgomery ([info]pandacharms. She was a year above Draco in Slytherin, a prefect, and pureblood, though her family attitudes tended to be those of acceptance. She was forced to be a Death Eater at the end of her last year of school and through the war (her application is long but it's probably better to read than summarise). Her mother, now the head of the DMLE, is an estranged Lestrange, and that makes his aunt Bellatrix her Aunt Bellatrix, and she and the Lestrange brothers had a lot to do with Dora during the war. She did time in Azkaban then went to the continent after gaining a Charms mastery with Flitwick, and dueled professionally up until sometime last year when she returned to work in her father's sister's Charm shop. I'd love some sort of backstory with them.

I see no mention of Astoria in your backstory, but I'll mention Rolf Scamander ([info]outofthewild) anyway. He was good friends with the previous Astoria. Hufflepuff and some years younger than Draco, it is possible that Draco and co bullied him? I'm not sure. But it would make him wary of him. He runs his family's shop, The Bestiary.

I also have [info]wolfinboots, who is Imogene Boot, Terry's younger sister, who is currently known as Genie de la Lune, a werewolf who isn't yet known to be a werewolf, who has a great talent in potions though no formal training. She could have something to do with the apothecary if you wished? Plus werewolf prejudices and all.

And finally there is Viktor Krum ([info]snitch_snatcher, who is playing for the Montrose Magpies and raising his two small children alone right now. Draco would know him from the Tournament and all, and I'm also open to backstory there!

Feel free to contact me any time. My email is awhisperinthewind at gmail dot com, and I'm gelseydutchwood on AIM.

Hiya!

We can work out backstory with Draco and Pandora - while Draco was more willingly involved in the death eater stuff to begin with things soon changed and it began to weigh on him more and more. Happy to work out something there.

No, Astoria and Draco aren't involved in my backstory so he doesn't really know her well. But I am sure he could have bullied Rolf a bit if you like.

Love the sound of Imogene Boot, even if Draco discovers her secret I don't think it would effect things. Draco is trying to make amends for his involvement in things so that could be a big part of it. Maybe she could become some kind of apprentice of his?

Ah Viktor, well Draco loves quidditch still so he could totally have been following his career/team. Backstory is welcome here too.

Best way for my contact is dreximgirl@gmail.com. I don't really use AIM.

Welcome, Lis, and Draco of course. I'm Caroline and I have 3 idiots characters who may or may not be of interest to Draco.

This is Charlie Weasley. He owns Wingbeat, the club in Monument Alley (rules and layout type things can be found on his journal), is missing the lower half of his right leg due to a poisonous dragon bite (leg was removed to save his life). This caused him to return home just over a year ago. He's pretty relaxed, but not a general fan of DE types unless they're trying to make amends, or changing their opinions etc., in which case he's good for second chances. Oh and at the moment he's going around on crutches without his prosthetic because he got a new tattoo on his stump.

Dean Thomas [info]artistdean is not going to be a Draco fan, as he has very poor memories from his former home. Dean's an artist and part-time barman at the pub. He is oblivious to being in love with Seamus. He does need potions ingredients from time to time though, thanks to the painting process. We could play around with their interaction somehow. Not sure how. Draco might be triggering for Dean if he's been absent for a while and Dean suddenly sees him unexpectedly. (Dean has pretty bad PTSD.)

Finally Gwenog Jones [info]haveyoumet_ who is a captain and beater with the Holyhead Harpies. She was a muggleborn Slytherin during the very end of the first war and suffered for it. She's aggressive about pretty much everything from her Quidditch, to her feminism, to her sexuality. She's hiding a secret ballet ability, that may be about to come out. She's just finished two weeks out through injury and is chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch.

I'd love to play around with Dean and Draco. He's spent a lot of time thinking while travelling and just wants to try and get on with his life, he doesn't expect to be able to make up for everything he's done but he'd be shocked about how affected Dean is I think. It'd definitely make him think more.

Gwenog could be an interesting one for Draco to befriend. If you were interested. He's a big quidditch fan, and kept up with all the teams while he was travelling.

I don't think of Draco of a major source of trouble for his PTSD, but he'll be VERY wary when he first returns. Dean's issues centre more on his time on the run and the battle, although listening to Hermione being torture also features. But I'd love to play around with that somehow. I like playing around with his reactions. And with Dean at the pub and Draco having a shop he might go in there's plenty of possibility of them running across each other.

OOOOOOOh. You know, I really like that idea. I mean, Gwenog is abrasive and has a love-hate relationship with people in general. But if she can see him being reformed (being an ickle muggleborn in Slytherin at the height of Voldemort's first reign was not kind to her). Although be warned she may be turning Greg Goyle into a small insect at some point soonish. May not endear her to him. In fact it's a bit of a habit (kept very quiet by her PR and legal people, who despair of her a lot). But she does need friends.

Yep that's understandable. I think Draco expects outright hostility to be honest so wariness would be an improvement. Ironically Draco shares some of those issues especially around Hermione, he can't say he sleeps well either but accepts that as part of his punishment. So yeah playing around with that could be interesting.

lol I still think, even with the Greg thing, that it could be interesting to throw them together. I imagine he'd find it rather amusing that she has a habit of turning people into insects.

Hi Lis! I'm Jinx, and I've got three characters running around here.

Firstly, this here is Marcus Flint, whom would probably know Draco best, at the very least from Quidditch at Hogwarts. He was a Death Eater during the war, though that was due to being blackmailed by his father rather than any personal desire of his own. He spent four years in Azkaban after his conviction, and nowadays he's a Chaser for the Appleby Arrows. Additionally, Greg Goyle is his cousin, so there's possibilities for backstory there as well.

Next up is Stacey Rivers ([info]pinkyink), a Muggleborn Hufflepuff who was a year behind the trio. She's exuberantly happy the majority of the time, extremely friendly and ridiculously energetic. She owns and operates a tattoo parlor in Monument Alley right next door to Finnigan's.

Finally, I newly have Bryce Dunstan ([info]_bryced), a former Gryffindor who has been living in the Muggle world with his daughter since his fiancee died about three years ago. He's a parole officer with the DMLE, trying to adjust to magic once more. I don't know if he'd have had much interaction with Draco in the past, but I'm more than happy for randomness in the future.

I'm on AIM at RemixedPhoenix or by email at jinxed.dreams[at]gmail.com for plots of all varieties. Welcome to the game!!

Totally up for backstory with Marcus. It totally makes sense that they have previous interaction esp with Greg Goyle connecting them.

Lol I can see Stacey as being a little too much for Draco, he may not be evil but he still finds too much cheer to be grating ;)

Future randomness with Bryce would be good x

Lmfao "too much" is a pretty good definition for Stacey as a whole. She'll be obnoxiously friendly in the even they ever run into one another.

Hello and welcome. I'm Christie and am horrible at responding to these things but I am always willing to chat and plot. So, let me take the time to introduce my three.

Blaise Zabini considers Draco the closest thing he has to a best friend. I've always envisioned that they were intellectual equals, etc. Blaise was a little jealous of Draco getting tapped to be a DE but he never voiced it. Blaise now works for the Gobstones department at the Ministry and lives alone in a flat by the river. He owns Zabini Manor but rarely goes there.

Marietta Edgecomebe doesn't have an opinion one way or the other about Draco. She officially works for Flourish and Blotts but does part time work as an escort for Romilda though she keeps that secret.

Hermione Granger makes an effort to stay away from Draco. It's easier to simply steer clear in her opinion. She works for a solicitor who represents witches and wizards in both the Muggle and wizarding world.

Awesome! Thanks.

I would love for Blaise and Draco to be best friends. He can be one of the very few that Draco kept in touch with when he decided to take off and who knew he was coming back.

Cool beans. That's fair enough.

Ah Hermione. There will be a lot of guilt there with Draco. He'd totally respect her not wanting anything to do with him and would probably leave if she arrived and things got awkward or whatever at any social gathering.

Hello hello! I'm Kaylie, I do my best to run this place so let me know if you need anything. I've got five, so I shall go from most to least connected to Draco.

First, obviously, is Greg ([info]goyle_g). I have assumed that Draco is still his best friend, though with Draco out of the country he's been relying on Pansy for a lot of his direction in life. He'll be happy Draco is home! He's not having a good time of it just now. He hates his job (and will probably get fired in the next month or so) - working at WWW, he's living in a small flat with a horrible landlady and his mum is trying to keep him on the 'straight and narrow', though he doesn't really get any of it.

Second, by virtue of being my other pureblood, is Bryony Capper ([info]goodlight). She was in Ravenclaw, a few years below Draco. Her family are slightly eccentric purebloods, but her mum has links to Death Eaters. She's kind of the black sheep of the family because she's chubby and shy and not marriagable. She was betrothed to Marcus for most of her life, until the war screwed that up. She's an artists apprentice.

Third, because he runs the pub and was in Draco's year, Seamus Finnigan ([info]openbottle). He runs battlescars, too, and generally tries to give even former-DEs the benefit of the doubt.

Lucy Spinks (this journal) was also in Draco's year. She's muggleborn and not very good at magic, so she probably had it pretty rough with the pureblood types. I know Pansy in-game agreed to have been nasty to her. Draco may have been as well? She'll be wary, anyway, especially since he's recognizable.

Finally, Dominic Chambers ([info]knowhow is also muggleborn, a year below Draco, and handyman at the pub. He'll know Draco by sight/reputation and possibly from Quidditch, but I doubt they've interacted beyond that. He can help if Draco needs anything doing with the building work of the apothecary, though.

Woo! Draco will be happy to see Greg too! He's definitely kept in touch while he's been away. Obviously he will do whatever he can to help his bestie out now that he's back.

Ah okay so Draco is likely to know her family then. I'm sure we can get a random interaction going with those two.

Ah Seamus. They definitely have some history, as helpful as battlescars would be for Draco he won't attend just because he knows he wouldn't be welcome and you know, he's not likely to admit easily that he's suffering any effects from the war etc.

If Pansy picked on her it's more than likely that Draco made a snide comment or two about her. Probably not as much as Pansy but still they won't have had nice encounters.

Ah that would be good. He's probably one of the first that Draco will speak to since he wants to get the shop up and running asap.

Greg's not great at owl-communication, so they probably need to catch up :-P

Yeah, her mother was an Avery, so Draco's probably at least aware of the family. They have balls and things, too. (He probably prefers her sisters, who are perfect pureblood beauties and her brother who's in pro quidditch).

We do have a couple of other former DEs in Battlescars - Tristan Travers, off the top of my head, and Theodore Nott . So if you're interested, it might be something he can be talked into. Seamus would encourage him to come, if he got wind of nightmares or anything. He's actually trying to find a way to make it more welcoming for those on the other side - I just haven't figured out what that should be yet.

I should have mentioned Dominic is muggleborn too, so might be a little wary - but not enough to turn down work. Unlike Lucy, he's damn good (& inventive) with magic and more confident, so comments directed at muggleborns tended to roll off his back more.

Yes! They should!

Sounds good to me.

Oh I'd love to make him do it so if others can push him into it I am more than happy for it to happen. Aww that would be good. Draco definitely sees it as for those who were on the 'good' side and not those like him.

Draco, despite his upbringing, is a lot more open to muggleborns so Dominic has nothing to worry about though obviously he doesn't know that.

Hi Lis! I'm Tina and I have Adrian (who would know him best of my kids), Cormac, Cho, Romilda, and Chris Summers.

Adrian ([info]adipucey): They were housemates of course and Adrian had been in talks with him to supply potions for the Apothecary, eventually wanting to buy a stake in the business. If that's good with you, I'd love to talk more, if not, that's cool, too ♥ I'm down for any backstory/school times you'd like with them. Adrian's family fled after he did his NEWTs (5th book) and settled on St. Thomas after traveling for a bit. Unknown to most people (if Draco would like to be in on this, let me know and we can talk), Adrian's father was a low-level potions maker for Voldemort, in exchange for leaving the rest of the family (Adrian, mostly) alone. This has never been found out.

Cormac ([info]macmclaggen): Mac runs the sports shop on Monument Alley. He'd know of Draco from school of course, and if you'd like any backstory I'm totally open - Mac's a friendly guy!

Cho ([info]charmingcho): Cho probably wouldn't like Draco as she's one to hold grudges, lol. BUT she's super social and runs a party planning business so if Draco would like to throw an opening party for the shop or anything, she's game!

Romilda ([info]vanegirl): Romi finds Draco very dreamy, and probably always has. She runs Quickpulse, the Monument Alley sex shop (toys and the like) and runs an escort service on the side.

Chris Summers ([info]chrisss): Chris fled with his muggle parents to Boston after the Triwizard Tournement and returned at the start of the game (so he was gone about ten years), he's open minded and free spirited but really doesn't like elitists so might have some assumptions about Draco, but he's sort of seeing Pandora so there's plenty of opportunity for them to cross paths :)

Hello!

That sounds good to me. Perfectly happy to have him supply Draco's place with potions and talk about buying a stake in it. So yes let's talk more :D Ooo I'd love to have Draco be in on that :)

Cormac sounds like a good easy interaction for Draco to have. Friendliness isn't expected from Draco's pov. Not from most people anyway.

That could be interesting if he hires Cho to organise an opening party which she does even though she doesn't like him.

lol aww well she does have good taste ;)

Assumptions are always fun to play with.

Cho's real good at the whole 'mean girls' sort of 'but I have to for business reasons' polite, lol. And Cormac is best described as a bit of an excited puppy, he likes everyone, mostly because he assumes everyone likes him (that kind of ego doesn't go away just because someone grows up!). If someone doesn't like him, he can get pretty pompous (and confused, lol). Also, he's from a super old pureblood family so he'd probably feel (right or wrong) like he and Draco have things in common, lol.

YES for Adrian and Draco! Anytime you'd like them to get together, let me know. Adrian is about to spill the beans to Alicia (his girlfriend) despite being terrified it might mean his dad ends up in jail or worse and she he's afraid she might leave him, so he might need someone who understands to lean on soon :)

It's nice to meet you (belatedly, I'm sorry)! I'm Angel, and I have Millicent (Mils). Draco'd know her from childhood and from Hogwarts, though Mils laid low during the Year Everything Happened, on her father's orders. He'll know her family, though her sister and brother are older enough that he might not know them terribly well, and she has a stepmother (Jane) who's from a good family - not quite Pureblood anymore, but the name still means something - who Draco might know. He probably won't know Jane's younger brothers, who Mils views as her stepbrothers, given they weren't Sorted into Slytherin, but Mils cares very much about them, so he very well might have heard of them in conversation.

With the previous Draco, it was a somewhat indescribable, but strained, relationship, because they had grown up together, and she did care about what was going on in his life, even when he was being an insufferable teenage twit (he'd make fun of her weight, for one), or a moody new Death Eater. We'd had it that he pushed her away, along with other friends, and they hadn't quite repaired things when he came up to London to start his business. I don't know what your thoughts are, if you'd like to run with something similar, or perhaps things went completely antagonistic because he was avoiding everyone once he'd taken the Mark, or or or!

Given that she and Pansy are friendly, I don't know if she would have kept in contact with Draco after he broke things off with Pansy, and while he was wandering the world. Do you have any thoughts? If he sent a card or an owl at the holidays, I can see her writing back. She and Adrian Pucey are cousins, and close, and she's still friends with Greg and Blaise, so there's that too, if Draco has connections with them!

Hello!

I'm happy to say he knows her family and that they had a somewhat strained relationship. I imagine he did push people away especially after receiving the mark but maybe he could try and repair things now he's back?

Greg and Blaise have agreed that they are Draco's best mates so I imagine she would know what was going on with him. I bet he did send her a note on birthdays and occasions.

Whoops... Totally missed your intro. Apologies. Terry here with Richard Summerby, pureblood businessman and amateur broom racer.

I'd guess they have some of the usual pure blood family ties on Rich's father's side of the family; his mother is French if you want to do something there as well. And probably the typical social functions. Rich is about three years older than Draco, and was the 'Puff who took over Cedric's position on the house Quidditch team after Tri-Wizard so they may have played against each other. There's also the possibility they ran into each other somewhere out of England since Rich gets around.

Take a look at Richard's c/s. I'm open to just about anything plotwise, although this is my busiest month of the year so I'll be hit and miss for a while.

I... seeing your reply to the Flash Forward future OOC post, I realised I'd forgotten to say 'hi'. Better late than never?

Hi! I'm Kat, and I have 4 peeps here:

Alicia Fawley (nee Spinnet) - who is dating Adrian, so she'll probably have some sort of interaction with Draco. She'll still be hesitant about him, but will hopefully work past that eventually?

Melinda Bobbin - who is the owner of Sweet Nothings and the daughter of the owner of Bobbin Apothecaries. Her father just retired with the start of 2005, so Draco wouldn't be seen as a competitor. She's sweet, so... yep.

Finbar Quigley - Beater and Captain for the Ballycastle Bats, Pureblood, pretty easy going.

and Rose Zeller - who is in her final months of Cursebreaker training.

That is the very brief run-down of them, but I'm glad to see Draco in the game :)
