Intro #3 (and last? Maybe? Bueller?)
Hey all! Jaime here with character #3, Gemma Farley.

Gemma is 29, a Slytherin who graduated at the end of Harry's first year (canonically welcomed 1st year Slytherins and showed them around as their prefect, so she may be remembered from that). Things to know about her:

Gemma is a remnant from Knockturn Alley, meaning that though she has a lovely legal beauty salon and spa, the authorities don't know that she also sells illegal (aka non-regulation) imported brooms and runs weekly crup-fighting nights. She hasn't met a black market she doesn't like, and I'm pretty sure that if you have a character who's looking for something illegal, she knows someone who can get it - for a price.
She has a gorgeous singing voice and will be often found on Open Mic night and in the choir, as well as the local business group at Finnigan's
Sorry boys but she no longer sleeps with men no matter what they can get her (yes, she's had her fair share of sugar daddies) - she much prefers ladies, and with her own businesses going strong, is no longer in the mood to lay back and think of England ;)
She is tough and intimidating, not to be messed with lightly, but not rude or abrasive - more honey than vinegar. But threaten her and she's pure barbed wire, with or without her wand.

Am up for ALL kinds of plottage :D Remember, you can rename the Alley, but you can't entirely get rid of the culture that inhabited it.

Hey.

So I think Dean's main contact with her is going to be on the other side of a bar. Probably pretty much exclusively. He has no interest in pretty-making things or illegal things. Although hold that thought since I've been having thoughts about the placement of Dean's studio.

I imagine he just serves her drinks and leaves her be. He avoids intimidating people because he doesn't want the drama.

It's a half-formed thought because I want to sort out the particulars of his studio and the other people in it. I know it's a converted warehouse somewhere along the river and I'm thinking the owner is wizarding and potentially owns other nearby buildings. It sort of depends on how her 'imports' come in and if she might have reason to be in an area.

There's potential for them running into one another if he goes outside to apparate home late at night, or her having problems when they have their gallery show and there are suddenly lots of people in the area.

Ooh, nice one!

School-wise, Gemma would have overlapped 2 years with Alicia and 1 year with Melinda, so I doubt she'll know them from there. All three girls do have shops/office in Monument Alley, so the LB group is a bit of a given.

But... Alicia loves to sing, and has - up until now - been the only member of the choir. They do seem kind of opposites, but Alicia's not really one to be intimidated by people (except Bole. She's scared shitless of Bole), so maybe something with the singing/choir?

	Opposites can be great fun! Would love to do something with the choir. Maybe two unlikely singers happen to have complimentary voices and are chosen to do a duet-solo and have to learn to get along? Or something else odd coupleish lol (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Ooo, she looks fun!

She's too old to have welcomed Astoria here, and she's not so into illegal items, BUT she most definitely would have used the salon and would know her as a client in that way! Astoria is also a designer (edging to be top designer) for Twillfit & Tattings, so if Gemma likes upscale clothing, she might have worn something she designed :D She does custom designs as well as handles the women's fashion in the shop so there's that!

Oliver would have overlapped for a few years and he loves to sing even if his voice is only passable. I don't know that he'd sober do anything illegal, but I could see him getting drunk and caught up going to a crup fighting match so they could have run into each other then? IDEK

	Hey! Gemma's not usually one for high fashion on a regular day, but I bet she'd have a set of robes for special occasions/marks - and she'd love to have Astoria as a client! 	Adrian's totally down for potential black market plots with his potions business, but don't tell Alicia ;) I'm sure they know each other if you like! He can certainly supply potions for the salon. Cho would probably be a regular customer, I'd say, if that's ok? (Reply to this) (Thread)

	So Hannah doesn't have a whole lot of reason to deal with anything on the black market, but she could probably be convinced to go to the salon and treat herself. It may take some doing (hint: Ernie), but she'd enjoy herself. Otherwise, Hannah would be friendly but not overly familiar? (Reply to this)
