The Memes
Do these if/as you need them. These memes are here to help you, but don't feel like you have to do them. I'd rather see you get things done, or post other questions you have for the community or things you need critique on than these memes if you don't need them.
Make a post with the title of the meme in the subject line, and tag it with your username.

Small Goals Meme
(Worth one point)
Make a schedule of small goals (200 words per day, one drabble per day, one drawing per week, or something more detailed) or a daily or weekly routine to follow. It can be a table or checklist, with specific dates or something less structured, anything that helps. Keep it somewhere where you can track what you're doing. If it makes you follow it more closely, keep track of it somewhere public, such as in your own journal or this community.

Getting To Know Your Medium Meme
(One point for each medium you play with, up to three.)
This meme is geared more toward the artists and designers, but writers can try it too.
1. Pick a medium or computer program you are working in.
2. What do you like most about that medium?
3. What do you like the least about it?
4. Is there a piece in which you learned something new about the medium?
5. Is there a piece in which you feel the choice of medium made the piece better?
6. Is there a piece in which you really experimented with the medium?
7. Do something new with your medium. Here are some places to start:
Try a style that isn't commonly used in your medium.
Find and use a tool in your program that you've never used before. You know all those options you never click on? Click them just to see what they do.

Writers: Experiment with words. Use a thesaurus. Play with form. Add color. Add different fonts to emphasize words and moods. It sounds silly, but it's kind of fun. If you want to share your experiment online, though, remember to save your file as a pdf or other image.
If you don't write/draw on the computer, use a different tool. Try different pens, brushes, a quill, markers, crayons, different papers.

Writer's Style Meme
(worth one point for each style you try, up to three.)
From one of your fics in progress, choose a description of a character, a moment, or a place you are using in one or more of your piece, no more than 400 words. It should be a piece of a scene that you're stuck on. If it's more helpful, create something new that can fit into one of your fics. Then write that little snippet in at least two different styles.
Suggestions on how to accomplish this:
Describe the same thing with as little detail as you can, while still getting the point across.
Add more detail to help yourself flesh out the scene.
Change the tense or point of view.
Use a thesaurus. Learn new words. Find words that strengthen your sentences.
Choose a writer you really like and study the style they use and the way they describe a scene.
Pick out the most important thing you want to get across in the passage, and find different ways to emphasize that.

Artist's Style Meme
(Worth one point for each style you try, up to three.)
Choose one thing you are having trouble with. This can be a background, some anatomy, expression, movement. Look at how different artists handle that particular thing. Try to emulate the style of at least two artists. If it is more helpful, don't use your listed pieces at all; create something new (and quick) based on the other artist's style.
