Got Snape? Looking for a post-DH, EWE game or psl Please, I beg you - actually read this appeal before randomly pimping something to me. I'd rather have no response than several, "This isn't what you're looking for, but you might try xyz . . .." I am looking for something very special, very specific, and yes, I know my chances are slim to none, but I'm holding out for a good fit.
Having said that, if you like to write your character(s) against a decently canon Severus Snape, please read on!
RPG Search:
I am looking for a home for post-DH Severus Snape.
My preference would be a relatively canon/EWE type game with mature players and mods who know how to guide plots and screen players. I prefer to play with people for whom role-play is a means to work on writing skills and character development.
I have no objections to Original Characters in a game. I won't play one myself, but I like the richness to the world that can be provided by their presence. However, only if the game is well-administrated and the OC's are strictly screened for excessive-Sue/Stu tendencies.
Preference would be given to games where no player 'runs' more than two to three characters. When people have a full 'stable' of characters, none of them gets fully developed, IMO.
I can write Snape in the classroom, dealing with the Order, interacting with the world at large, skulking amongst fellow Death Eaters, etc.
I will be able and willing to submit a thorough application for Mod approval. Games are better if well administrated, IMO. I would rather be thoroughly vetted, myself and know that the other players are likewise, than to be readily admitted to a game just because you 'need' a Snape and find myself in a poor fit.
My knowledge and understanding of book-canon borders on frighteningly OCD and I strive at all times to keep Snape true to character as written while (hopefully) giving him room to develop post-war.
The ideal game would have a generous handful of dedicated players who take their writing and the 'lives' of their characters seriously. I would be happiest writing in a game with a mix of ages of characters. Snape gets dull to play if the only interaction we get is among the dunderheaded children consuming the oxygen in his classroom. I prefer thread-style gaming, though have also participated in message-board games. I do not care to participate in Instant-Messaging threads.
Admins: - the bulk of my Snape persona and application is in the 'user info' section of this journal, though I would edit/modify accordingly to fit the plot of the right game. Please at least skim it over before rec'ing your game - save us both some time and hassle. If you don't like my portrayal of Snape, please don't pimp your game to me.
Or:
Private Story Line (psl)
Barring ability to find a game, I would be interested in a more focused private-storyline, with the right writer.
In a private-storyline scenario, I would feel the need for a "trial period" to make sure of a mesh of writing style and comfort level. I don't appreciate writing with someone who makes me 'drive' the story without active participation, nor do I play well with someone who wants to dictate every action.
There are only a handful of characters with whom I would never, ever, EVER pair Severus Snape. Sirius Black, Lucius Malfoy, Filch, Hagrid, Minerva. I have written Snarry, Snupin, Snaco, Snape/Hermione, Snape/Ginny, Snape/Luna, Snape/Hestia, Snape/OFC, and am not opposed to exploring other options.
My preference is slash just for the fun of it. I'm especially wishing to write Snarry just now, but it's more important to have a sound, slow development of believable story.
I would still prefer post-DH starting place for a psl.
Interested persons must be able/willing/comfortable to write adult content if/when our characters develop to that point.
I also need someone who has time to give replies at least 3-4 times per week, preferably daily. I don't sit at my computer 24/7 and I know there will always be real-life things that interfere with writing, but so far my psl attempt partners have only been able to reply once/week which just isn't consistent enough for me.
I realise the incomparable JKR killed him off in canon, but I really miss writing Severus.
