On January 1st, 1980, Voldemort disappeared. Not even his most devoted followers know where he went, but in the absence of their leader, the Death Eater movement gradually fell apart, and the wizarding world found itself in an uneasy truce. The horror of the war has not been forgotten, but few still believe that the Dark Lord will return.
Now it's the spring of 1998. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom, the children of prophecy who might be able to defeat Voldemort once and for all, are about to leave Hogwarts, along with their peers - but they are Chosen Ones unmarked by grief and almost untouched by trial. Thanks to the anticlimax of the first war, the wizarding world is unprepared for a jarring end to their eighteen years of peace.
But soon enough, the Dark Marks will burn again...

What happens after Happily Ever After?
Heroes and villains alike seek someplace to exist before they fade from existence. Others search for a way home, not sure if there's a home left to go to. Pentamerone is the last stronghold of human imagination. The hundreds of magical lands and worlds that used to exist in the minds of children are now in a state of decay. Pentamerone is a world of mystery, of new places to be explored, and full of new people to meet. It looks idyllic, peaceful, welcoming. But only one thing's certain:

The houses built a divide that at times just could not be breeched. So it was with the Governors of the school honored Hogwarts' 1400th Anniversary of teaching students with a Tournament the likes the school had not seen since the Triwizard decades before. A champion would be picked, one from each house. There was a catch though none of the students would know until after the first trial. It would be a partnered competition and the stakes would be high and dangerous.

THE BUREAU NEEDS YOUAnother monster dusted, waiting for the clean up crew. Crisis averted, Earth saved, all was right with the world again. The aliens the critters the mutants or just the fanboys who have knowledge of the paranormal - and more. They make up the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, they protect a world that generally have little idea they exist. As Professor Trevor Bruttenholm once said, when things go bump in the night, the BPRD bumps back.

| The Premise |
It's the year 2005. Seven years have passed since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts and gave hope to the wizarding world. Seven years meant to rebuilt their world, to move toward integration, to repair the divisions drawn, but the Ministry has done a volte-face.
Well meaning policies meant to increase the population and protect everyone have been misused. Retributions policies aimed at justice were turned into laws to oppress the purebloods that had created so much hurt in past decades.
The Ministry run by muggleborn and half-bloods seems more interested in revenge than justice. At first, they pass a series of laws masked as compensation for generations of mistreatments and prejudices, but soon those very laws are used to discriminate and punish the purebloods.
It starts with taking away their houses and assets, and soon all purebloods are living in Hogsmeade, in run down houses, with limited Apparition and Floo access. The Special Squad guards the town in the name of safety, but uses its power to intimidate. The heroes of the war fair a little better, but even they lose their jobs and watch Muggleborns and half-bloods take their places despite of merit.
If this weren't enough, the Ministry is intent in integrating with the Muggle world. Computers and televisions are the new rage. Internet and mobiles take the place of the Floo and owls. Tired of all of this purebloods begin to rise. Strange alliances are formed, and the fight starts.
In the midst of all these changes, one man cast a series of spells that will change things forever. Using the many ancient druidic gateways like Stonehenge existing in Britain, Rodolphus ties to bring back their Dark Lord. He hasn't succeeded, but some people have begun to reappear. A few, at first, but with time the spell has taken a life of its own and now no one but faith controls it, bringing back friends and enemies, men and beasts.
In this world of chaos, ordinary witches and wizards must take their stand. Will they protect their own? Will they fight for equality? Will they survive it all?

| The Game |
Volte-face is a role-playing game based on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The setting takes place seven years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends and the game is canon compliant to all seven books (minus the epilogue).
This is a dark game. Players will be expected to write and deal with dark subject like social mistreatment, sexual abuse, torture and death. We are looking for creative and active players who want to build a story not only for their characters but for the game as a whole as well. All levels of experience are welcome.
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. |

The Ministry of Magic was taken over by the Dark Lords followers. Purebloods that understood the cause were at his beck and call. Some half-bloods of social standing tried to change their bloodlines by smudging documents in hopes to keep themselves and their money safe. Muggleborns were treated like common criminals and hunted by an order called, Snatchers. And blood-traitors were victimized for their political views. Change was on the horizon. The students of Hogwarts were thrown into that change without warning. As the new year began Headmaster Snape proved to be just as nasty as he had been as a teacher. The employment of the Carrows siblings brought on obvious alterations to the schools interests. With the implementation of a Dark Arts class, the rebirth of the Inquisitorial Squad, and the new found form of physical punishment...students were asked to choose sides. For it was believed that cleansing the youth was necessary to preparing them for the Dark Lords new order. And what better place to start than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding? thispurgatory, is a HBP compliant trio era 7th year game. Here we look to explore Hogwarts and Hogwarts only. Though the castle walls are greatly influenced by the world beyond them students are rarely, if ever, let in on details. With no real contact with the outside world and such drastic measures being taken by the new administration students are forced to conform or in the rare case...rebel. Rebellion, of course, will not be tolerated by the current staff. Yet, there are a few who have chosen to fight. A few who look to right the wrongs of those who currently have the power. The question is, where will you stand come the final battle of Hogwarts? GAME BEGINS WHEN 15 CHARACTERS ARE CAST
