Connotation: An AU Marauders' Era RPG [03 Apr 2009|12:41am] CONNOTATION MORE THAN JUST A WAR GAME Premise | Available Characters | Who We'd Like To See The problem with most post-Hogwarts marauders' era games is that there's such a large focus on the war and how events affect the war. It's all dark, admittedly a little plotless the majority of the time, and can be a bit of drag. "Oh. More mass murders. I guess that'll be... interesting." At Connotation, we're going to change that. The war is going on, but it isn't the main focus, giving room for more potential plot-wise. And not just the mod's plot - yours. That's right. Here's your chance to get involved with shaping the plot. Muggles bumbling into the wizarding world, secret underground movements, kidnapping, and the search for the hallows - they're all being thrown around as potential pieces of the plot and you can be part of the discussion. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JOIN. Wanted: Do you want us to have a Peter before a James and Lily? I didn't think so. Get on applying. Sirius needs his IDKBFF James. We could also use Death Eaters, who will actually have things to in this game! Carrows, Lestranges, and Malfoys - oh my! I suppose a Severus Snape might be nice, too. Or even Travers, Avery, and Yaxley. Molly and Andromeda could also desperately use their husbands and Fabian and Gideon would no doubt love to have their step-brother around. Or a reasonable facsimile at least. Built over the ruins of the old town, the newly named Prescott Valley has been billed as a shining oasis full of new houses and families. A mere two hour drive from LA, Prescott Valley has cinemas, schools, a mall, several Starbucks... in short, all the amenities you would expect to find in a freshly built town. And one that you wouldn't. Deep below the town, something else has been rebuilt: the Hellmouth. Called to this portal between Earth and the Underworld is the Source, in the body of Cole Turner. In a last ditch effort to win his love back, Cole made a deal to take the Source into his body in exchange for actually getting a body. However, Cole was not as powerful as he thought and his plan to double cross the Source failed. Working with the First, the two Biggest Bads of all time are slowly but surely taking over the town of Prescott Valley, on their way to dominating the world. Tentative news of increased supernatural activity has reached the ears of the Good, however and protectors the likes of the Slayers, the Charmed Ones and others have begun trickling back into the area to investigate. Unbeknownst to most of the Prescott Valleyians, humans have been recruited, lured with promises of power and riches, and slowly the town is decaying again. To entertain it's 'guests', it created a world that, every so often, shifted, but always looked like some sort of resort on earth. In a rare moment of weakness, the King of the Goblins and Ruler of the Underground, Jareth, was taken unawares and brought to the Planet. What followed was an inevitable clash of egos as the powerful fae creature fought with the strange sentient planet. The battle was fierce, and the fallout completely unpredictable. In the end, a new dimension was created, somewhere between Jareth's old home and the dimension occupied by the sentient planet. In this new land, Jareth appears to reign surpreme. But can anyone truly rule in a world that was created in such a bizarre and tumultuous way? A few people had been brought along with him in the creation of the new realm, but Jareth decided that anything the Planet could do, he could do better.
