Ever wondered what the lives of the chosen ones are really like? Well, I'm going to tell you, because I'm one of them. I'm not talking about beautiful models or actors or musical prodigies or mathematical geniuses. I'm talking about the people who are born to it- those of us who have everything anyone could possibly wish for and who take it all completely for granted.

Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where my friends and I live and go to school and play and sleep- sometimes with each other. We all live in huge apartments with our own bedrooms and bathrooms and phone lines. We have unlimited access to money and booze and whatever else we want, and out parents are rarely home, so we have a ton of privacy. We're smart, we've inherited classic good looks, we wear fantastic clothes, and we know how to party. Our shit still stinks, but you can't smell it because the bathroom is sprayed hourly by the maid with a refreshing scent made exclusively for us by French perfumers.

It's a luxe life, but someone's got to live it.

XOXO is an RPG set in the world of Gossip Girl. Here, you can play as your favorite character and enjoy the scandalous world in the Upper East Side.

The game begins after the events in episode 2x12, "It's A Wonderful Lie". The Snowflake Ball ended with a smash - literally. Serena attends the Ball with her artist boyfriend, Aaron Rose, but she begins to question her relationship with him when Dan and Lexi, Aaron's ex-girlfriend, go to the Ball together. Chuck and Blair try to match each other up with the perfect date, but things don't go as planned. Vanessa and Nate's relationship becomes public knowledge, and Little J isn't too happy about it. Lily and Rufus come to terms with something that's been bothering them for the past 20 years, but will the death of Bart Bass put a damper on things, or just make them easier? Now you can decide.

its a wild, wild world out there

The year is 2027, and all is well...mostly. The children after the war have mostly grown up and are slowly starting their own lives. Slowly. They have time, which is not something the generations of the past have felt. There is no war, no crumbling society to rebuild. There's time to waste, there's fun to be had. It's time for the Next Generation to start the fearful process of growing up, getting jobs, settling down. Though first loves are never last loves and debauchery is alive and well in today's youth.

Though... there are whispers of an old Purist, a former Death Eater, whispers that he's forcing a "Bill of Magical Marriage" on the Wizengamot. There's a bit of fear that he'll have his way by February, fear that his argument is becoming too convincing. If the Wizengamot votes in his favour, not even Kingsley Shacklebolt will be able to stop it from coming to fruition.

What's odd enough, people still support this bill. These antiquated ideas of "Magical Lineage" and "Inferior Muggle Blood" are still instilled in some of the children of the new generation. The Bill of Magical Marriage goes up in front of the Wizengamot on April 1st, 2027. Will you be protesting it or protecting it?

But even if it's rejected by the Wizengamot, the plans won't just stop there...

2004; The war is years past and the wizarding world has finally began to take on a shape of normalcy. Harry Potter is still a celebrity but his name is no longer the one in the headlines. Most major reconstruction is finished, Hogwarts has been reopened for some time now. People have started moving on with their lives... Only one question remains;

Who will you become now?

WANTED
GEORGE WEASLEY - You would be adored by your sister, Ginny. Not to mention a very complicated "relationship" with Fred's former girlfriend, Angelina Johnson. Old friends Katie Bell & Alicia Spinnet are around as well.

ROMILDA VANE - You would likely be perfect as an Experimental Potions intern! Wouldn't you just love to bother and annoy your boss - the reclusive and fairly cynical Theodore Nott?

SEAMUS FINNIGAN - You seem like a likely suspect to be Anthony Goldstein's drinking buddy. The two of you base your entire relationship around the pub, but hey, it works!

HARRY POTTER - Your on/off girlfriend Ginny Weasley is wondering where you've been lately. And Draco Malfoy is running rampant without someone to keep him in check! Report to duty ASAP!

ZACHARIAS SMITH- Have you translated your school Quidditch skills into the big league? If so Ginny Weasley is looking for a rivial on the field of play - as is Alicia Spinnet. You're obnoxious enough to fit the bill.

SUSAN BONES - You seem nice enough to have been Terry's ex-girlfriend turned close gal pal. Perhaps you should show your face around as Terry could probably use your advice regarding his current situation.

MALCOLM BADDOCK - Your cousins Theodore Nott and Daphne & Astoria Greengrass are impatiently awaiting your arrival to the game. You would be in for some fairly interesting family dynamics!

Hufflepuffs & Gryffindors are wanted in general! As are former Death Eaters.

UP THE DOWN
a next-gen harry potter roleplay
characters * rules * faq * taken pbs * application
During the 2022-2023 school year, something weird began to happen at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

At first, it was just a few little oddities popping up to make September interesting: the points hourglasses in the Great Hall started coming up with their own numbers; mild disorientation amongst the House Elves led to the mixing up of a few loads of laundry; one of the enchanted suits of armor left its post and took to wandering the corridors, acting like dandy.

Things only got bigger and more intricate from there: all through October, bats and animated skeletons started coming out of nowhere, and, on Halloween, the Great Hall was inexplicably filled with sheep. In November, almost everyone in the castle claimed to see the oddest animals – rabbits in waistcoats, bipedal tortoises in top hats, giant talking centipedes with surprisingly good manners and impeccable diction – coming out of the dungeons, the lake, and even the toilets, while the owls began reciting poetry and cats throughout the school quoted Paradise Lost. Students, come December, were not hearing the standard holiday tunes, but were reporting to the Hospital Wing en masse, complaining of hearing musical scores that suited their daily goings on perfectly. Mostly, the shenanigans were contained to the school, but, for some reason, they appeared to follow the students and professors home for their Christmas hols.

By the time classes reconvened in January, the trouble at Hogwarts had attracted international attention. Magical theorists were calling it “an unprecedented occurrence with the potential to change magic theory and magical education as we know it.” Everyone from concerned parents to the biggest names in research was paying attention, but no one thought it was particularly dangerous – until Friday the 13th and Valentine’s Day occurred in direct succession.

Hogwarts was utter chaos. That Friday, black was up, down was East, and everything went completely insane. Classes were impossible because the supplies started literally running away. Fire started freezing water, but didn’t make anything colder. The Nifflers brought in for a Care of Magical Creatures lesson began walking upright, came into the school, and performed various plays of Shakespeare in the corridors. A flock of varied tropical birds showed up in the Great Hall, stealing food and giving people unwanted riddles. Valentine’s Day was an even worse fiasco: hormones raged, torrid things happened, and, overwhelmingly, most of the school doesn’t want to talk about it.

On the morning of Monday, 16th February, 2023, the first thing that the Wizengamot voted on was whether or not to quarantine Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry until the source of the madness was discerned and contained. The decision was a unanimous “yes.”

Up the Down is a Next-Gen Harry Potter roleplaying game set during James Sirius Potter’s seventh year. The basis of the game is canon, but the environment will be a laidback union of canon and crack. Additionally, there’s a twist on the standard game format: rather than placing holds and writing long applications, players are randomly assigned their characters, get an idea, and hit the ground running.

The atmosphere has thickened. What was once a carefree time for a group of teenagers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is now a time of fear and uncertainty. Those who plan to join the ministry have to reconsider what they will be signing up for.

Right now, at least, they are living at the safest place to be. They can try to go on with life as usual.
