Alan Andersen Academy for the Fine Arts was established in 1987 by Alan Andersen's grandson and the school has since become one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the United States. The school specializes in not only the performing arts, but literary and visual arts as well. With experienced and professional educators and funding from organizations all over the world, the school has produced many performers that are already prepared for the world of Broadway.

The game will focus on high school students that have been accepted into Alan Andersen, and they have either received a scholarship from the school or are paying for their own tuition. The academy is located in a fictional town by the name of Walting in the state of Delaware, and everyone located within Walting is supportive of the school and its mission.

It all began with a strange sentient planet that had gotten lonely, and had begun to kidnap people from all times and places to keep itself company. To entertain it's 'guests', it created a world that, every so often, shifted, but always looked like some sort of resort on earth. In a rare moment of weakness, the King of the Goblins and Ruler of the Underground, Jareth, was taken unawares and brought to the Planet. What followed was an inevitable clash of egos as the powerful fae creature fought with the strange sentient planet. The battle was fierce, and the fallout completely unpredictable.

In the end, a new dimension was created, somewhere between Jareth's old home and the dimension occupied by the sentient planet. In this new land, Jareth appears to reign surpreme. But can anyone truly rule in a world that was created in such a bizarre and tumultuous way? A few people had been brought along with him in the creation of the new realm, but Jareth decided that anything the Planet could do, he could do better. With that in mind, he began to bring in people from all places and times. Very soon, those who had been brought with him would have company...

X-Project - an X-Men Movieverse RPG on Livejournal [23 Feb 2009|02:02pm]

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, twin to Jean-Paul. Jeanne-Marie suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. One personality is the quiet, prudish and very human schoolmarm Jeanne-Marie, the other the super-powered and unstable Aurora. Separated from her brother after the death of their parents and brought up in a reactionary Catholic school for girls from an early age, Jeanne-Marie was tormented by her fellow students and manifested her flight, superspeed and invulnerability when she tried to commit suicide by throwing herself off the roof. Convinced she was a tool of the devil, Jeanne-Marie repressed her mutant powers, sparking off the split into her two selves, and over time her episodes became more dramatic. Recruited to Alpha Flight by Logan from off the streets, she was reunited with her brother but eventually she required hospitalisation for her mental issues. Escaping, she tracked Jean-Paul down to Xavier's, where she spent a short time confusing people before returning to Canada with him for further treatment. Eventually, however, she disappeared, unable to stand what her instability was doing to her twin. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and we accept new characters as well as encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

We also highly encourage readers - if you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!

The following characters are previously-played socks or NPCs available for application.

A loud bang was heard in the ministry of magic, the sound piercing through many of the corridors, but it was loudest in the Atrium. There was not only the craking in this hallway, but also a piercing light and a great wind that seemed to originate from the very middle of the corridor. The gust of wind was strong enough to knock anyone in the hall off of their feet and back towards the walls. Thus, when the gust, and light, and crack had disappeared, a lone figure was kneeling against the polished dark wood floor. Long dark hair fell, concealing the face of the woman who knelt there, a slender arm outreached, hand pressed against the floor ahead of her. The gown she wore was unusual, in more than the mere fact she wore a gown.

The fabric and style were much more reminicent of a time long gone than any current fashion would suggest. Before any others could regain their foot, the woman lifted her head, eyes searching the room around her. And then, gracefully, she rose to a full standing position, a smile coming to her lips. She ignored the confused gazes and in the silence that had fallen, spoke. Her voice was clear, and the smile remained. "Morning to you all. Tell me, what year is this?"

The year is 2009. The wizarding world has been at peace for nearly eleven years, since the fall of the terrible Lord Voldemort. The infamous trio have all gotten married, had children, and moved on with their lives. That was, until the appearance of the mysterious Morgana le Fay.

No one is sure of Morgana's intentions, nor the how or why that brought her to the future. The history books all say that she was Merlin's greatest enemy, but she's saying otherwise. Is she really there to help, or does she have something more sinister in mind?

But Morgana isn't the only problem. All over the globe, strange things are happening. People who were thought to be dead are popping up in the places that they died. C reatures, both magical and non, that were thought to be extinct are starting to show up all over the place.

Shards of Time is a present day, post-war Harry Potter RPG, seeking dedicated and talented writers to fill important roles for both living characters, and those returning from beyond the grave.

Game Opens March 2, 2009!

Most Wanted Characters: Alicia Spinnet, Daphne Greengrass, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Lee Jordan, Michael Corner, Severus Snape, Cho Chang, Lucius Malfoy, Parvati Patil....AND MORE!

It is September of 2022. It has been over 23 years since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort. Life has returned to the most normal state it's been in since Tom Riddle was just a boy. Witches and wizards everywhere no longer have to look over their shoulders constantly. The children of the new era have never had to deal with anything of a foul nature.

This is the year that the Ministry, headed under Antonia Barquett, will introduce the Wizard-Muggle Cooperation ACt. (The WMCA). Starting in small doses, witches and wizards everywhere are going to slowly introduce themselves to Muggles in an effort to prove that everyone can coincide.

In order to prepare for this change, all students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will be required to take Muggle Studies. At first, everything seems to be going well, despite the outrage from certain sets of parents and their children. Oblivators and Aurors were standing by to help if anything went wrong.

No one was prepared for how very wrong things would go.

The wizarding community is soon wrenched into two factions: Those who agree with the WMCA, and those who strongly oppose it. Fights break out in the street; petty crimes, vandalism, and arson are committed. Minister Antonia refuses to disband the WMCA.

And then, in the midst of the chaos and the arguments surrounding the WMCA, another separate force begins to brew. There are some people who don't want either side to win. A talent in potions and a twisted mind can go a long way when you're playing with fire...

Someone wants to burn the witches, and they've found a way to do it.

~*~

The game will begin soon, which will be September 1st in game. The announcement of the WMCA was made over the summer.
