For a second, Cordelia was wondering if she might have to somehow resuscitate Angel if he managed to pass out. She'd never seen him have such a strong reaction to her before. It was pretty damn flattering, and it amped up her reaction to him even more.
Though hers was probably a little less obvious than his. Unless he could use that weird vampire smell thing to...eww...
Cordy grinned. She knew she was easy on the eyes, but she hadn't been sure if Angel would have admitted defeat so easily. But then again, pushing their game farther probably would have involved his pants going the way of his tank top, so maybe it was for the better.
The smile still hadn't faded from her lips entirely when he kissed her, and she settled down into his lap with her mind pushing her to do far too many things that would only get them into trouble.
"No need to apologize. Makes me feel pretty damn good about myself. I'm just not sure if there's anything we could do about it."
This was why she hadn't wanted to tease him. Even though she knew that they probably could take things farther, since perfect happiness was such a rarity, and it probably wouldn't happen, since he wouldn't let himself be perfectly happy if he knew the consequences...there was still so much risk involved.
Cordy dropped her head back onto Angel's bare shoulder. "You know, I wouldn't have teased you if you hadn't started it."
