Title: Bouquet
Authors: trio

Theme Set: LW2
Theme(s): The Look In Your Eyes
Warnings and Notes: m/m relationship, solo bit, floral language taken from here
I choose myrtle first, the white blossoms decorated with sprays of gold at the center, tiny fireworks that decorate the sparse bouquet. They are ornate flowers, and yet their meaning is so perfectly simple. Love. One four-letter word, and a wealth of meanings, all contained within each pretty blossom. My fingers are careful, setting them amidst baby's breath filler even as I eye the other blooms.
Then comes a couple of red chrysanthemums, their bright color standing out against the green and white. They always struck me as a very soft flower, so full and layered, and I include three arranged in a sort of makeshift triangle. I love. The same emotion reinforced. Omi, I want you to understand what I say here. I want you to believe it.
One red tulip in the center of all this, its petals picking up the crimson of the chrysanthemums and carrying it. The bright color conceals any small flaws in the white blossoms, until all that can be seen around them is pristine purity. I like that. The extremes do well together. Declaration of Love. I've told you how I feel, Omi. And you have accepted me.
Sprigs of star-shaped heliotrope are next, filling out the bouquet until it doesn't look quite so empty. It was hard to find sprigs with every blossom blooming. I wonder if you'll realize it. Devotion. Faithfulness. I will never leave you, Omi. You are my life, and I will be loyal to you forever.
Five-petaled lemon blossoms also fit the mix, their white serving to reinforce the myrtle and heliotrope, and counter the chrysanthemum and tulip. Fidelity in love. Just as I will never leave you, I will never cheat on you. Omi, you are my one and only, my forever. Only you will ever get to see this face I do not show the world.
The stem of the final flower I wrap in red thread, a pathetic attempt at symbolism. The mottled red and white of the rose's bloom bring the bouquet together perfectly, leaving me pleased with the final result. Unity. We are bound by the red thread of fate, you and I. I need you beside me, as my partner in all things, just as strongly as you need me.
When the bouquet is done, I tuck it into the back of one of the freezers to keep fresh, knowing I have a few hours to go. I will deliver it to you tonight, Omi, tucked up in my room with you and some food. I'm looking forward to it eagerly, if only to see the look in your eyes.
