I have really really dry skin on my forehead and on my cheecks right under my eye area. Can anyone recommend a good, but inexpensive moisturizer? Please and thank you.

Also, I bought Bare Minerals yesterday from Sephoria, and I used it today. I can't tell a difference from my skin from before I put it on to after. No, really. I can't.

Have you ever tried Eucerin cream? It's kind of heavy, but not greasy, and I use it as my eye cream. It doesn't burn and it's not scented, either!

No, I haven't tried that. How heavy is it? It doesn't feel like a mask does it?

No, not nearly that heavy! It looks almost like paste but is easy to blend in and is non-comedogenic. CVS, Target, and other stores have their own version. I usually get a small tube (2 oz) at Walgreen's and it's maybe $5.

I've heard good things about Aveeno, of the drug store brands. And Olay Regenerist is also supposed to out-perform even the most costly department store products.

For many years, however, Aveda is what did it for me. It calmed down my rosacea, ended my breakouts completely and forever, and kept my skin lovely. Only in the last year or so has age taken its toll and sent me looking for different products. I'm back at Aveda now, although using different products than I used to. It's hard to beat, especially if you have sensitive skin at all. It's not cheap per se, but it's not up there with the really expensive department store brands.

Seconding Aveeno and Aveda! And the latter sends me stuff on my birthday!

Have you tried any of the Eucerin Redness Relief stuff? I don't have rosacea but do have sensitive and sometimes red skin, and the cleanser and night cream has worked really, really well.

I've seen mixed reviews of Eucerin on the rosacea websites... I haven't tried it, but was considering it. What's doing it for me right now is Aveda's Calming Formulation. Unbelievable!

I meant to say, as far as Bare Minerals goes, I tried it years ago, and it always made my skin feel tight and didn't give me any coverage at all.

I'm going to do a foundation post later today but I have to run an errand first.

I've used Aveeno Body Lotion for the last couple of years every time I get out of the shower or tub and my skin is incredibly soft. I've never used it on my face, though. I do use Oil of Olay Original Formula on my face but lately I've been noticing the my skin is also becoming flaky and dry, but that could be the cooler weather.

I switched to Bare Minerals last summer and initially loved it. Lately it hasn't been giving me the best coverage though BUT I also quit using the Mineral Veil which, IMO, makes a big difference in the type of coverage that you end up with. The MV makes my skin look smoother and more finished. (I'm being cheap right now, that's why I haven't bought it lately.)

My face has become worse with being flaky and dry these past few months. It was already starting out that way when I lived in SC. Then I moved back to OH in October, and this past month alone my forehead and cheeks have become unbearable.

I used all three today, the foundation, warmth, and mineral veil. And even with the MV, I didn't see a difference in my skin. I even watched the DVD beforehand to make sure I was doing it right. I was so excited about getting Bare Minerals *I love informercails, and things I see on tv, I really want*, but now I feel like it's a huge letdown almost.

The Body Shop
Try The Body Shop's (NOT Bath and Body Works) Aloe skin care line. I have the same problems you describe I use the night cream and the day cream and it is awesome. If you are super dry you can use the night cream during the day too, its rich but not too thick or oily.

I had a dermatologist rec. Eucerin but I am allergic to the preservatives in it so that just made it worse and I found it very oily.
