Hair removal
Hi, I was hoping to get some advice-- I'm considering buying an epilator.

Are they effective? Terrible? Easy to use? Incredibly painful? Very expensive? Worth it? Am I right in my assumption that they could only be used on my legs, so I'd need to continue using other means on other areas? Is there any point buying one if it's just one more part of a regimen that doesn't really replace another part?

Any comments, advice or recommendations would be welcomed!

AGONIZINGLY painful. I see no benefit to them over waxing.

I had an eiplady when they first came out many, many years ago and it's the most painful way EVER to remove hair from your legs.

I found them to be painful, but to work about as well as waxing. My hair did grow finer when I used it, but whether operator error or what, the hair had to be long enough to be grabbed. This left me balancing between almost "growing my leg hair out" *snort* and just simply shaving. Every once in a while I still break it out, but find waxing less irritating to my skin and marginally less painful.

Don't do it!

Waxing is bad enough. Unless you are just someone that enjoys pain/torture.

For other areas, I'd go with magic.

It's a miracle in a can. You should try that.

I had one, but hated it, its like waxing but takes longer so hurts more. I can't use creams but have recently discovered Sundepil http://www.sundepil.com/index_en.htm which is a bit like gentle sandpaper! but it works ok
