Hey, this is Rolf!

Rolf Scamander is the grandchild of Newt Scamander (fantastic beasts and where to find them), and carried on family tradition by becoming a magizoologist. His father fled Britain during the first war, because he was being pressured to join the DE. While abroad he fell in love with Kasja and started a family in Sweden. He eventually went to Durmstrang, but made the very conscious decision NOT to be a delegate for the Triwizard Tournament.

He can come off as very antisocial, but in reality he's just very nervous. He's excited to get a journal because he knows he comes off more confident on paper, but his IRL social life is almost non-existent. It's very easy for him to get worked up into an anxiety attack, so he needs a gentle touch.

He vaguely knows Luna and Victoria by way of teaching seminars they've attended, and I imagine he's friendly with other Durmstrang students. Particularly Yakov, because Rolf enjoys the company of easy-going people.

So that's what's going on!
-Max

Yay, Rolf is here!

Let's see what my kidlets have to say about him...

Miles sees nervous people as little playthings. It's mean, I know, but it's stronger than him. However, if he feels more confident on paper, there's a chance he'll be nicer from the get go - it all depends on the first impression, really.

Leah is looking forward to having an intelligent conversation. She's not very sociable either, though in a different way, so the journals might be helpful for both.

Tiago won't know him since Rolf wasn't part of the delegation back in the day, but he'll be nice.

Hamish will be nice too. He knows all about feeling socially awkward, though not in such an extreme way.

Greg will be nice too. Ditto Jamie.

Sohvi will be very friendly and will be more than happy to engage in conversation in Swedish since she knows the language.

Samir will be nice in an excitable way I'm sure Rolf might find alarming if they ever meet in person.

Luna... Well, she felt sorry for him when she attended that seminar. He intrigues her, both because she's interested in his experience and knowledge and what he has to say, but also because she has no idea what it must feel like to be so anxious.

Cormac is trying hard not to scoff.

Declan will try to prove that scoffing is not a McLaggen trait.

And Zoe will be friendly.

Rolf says Miles is rude.

I can definitely see him getting along really well with Leah.

Tiago Greg and Jamie might just fly under his radar.

I can see him being pleasant to Hamish. He likes quidditch in a passive kind of way. He enjoys things where he understands all the rules.

He might go into Jamie's shop now and again!

I don't see how he'd know Greg, but he'd be nice.

Yay! He likes Sohvi. She's cheerful in a manageable way. He can pretty comfortably speak/understand a lot of Scandinavian languages, but Finish is all Greek to him (lol).

Samir would definitely alarm him.

LUNA. <3

He thinks Cormac is annoying and really wants to see Declan's horses.

He will love Zoe.

I'm so excited for the movie!!! hahah

Tasha is good friends with the Durmstrang delegation so maybe she would be aware of him and maybe they would have interactions. Tasha would love to get to know him as well.

Yay! He kept in contact with his classmates during that year so she probably heard his opinions on the game from second hand sources. He didn't go mostly because he was worried about the quality of his studies if he went abroad, partly because he didn't particularly like new things (he's gotten a little better now), but mostly because he knew that Karkaroff wanted brawn more than brains.

He thinks Tasha is very nice, and will find it easy to be friendly when they already have friends in common.

Yay, more Durmstrangers!

I think Anzelm and Maks will be the only ones who know him, though they did opt for the tournament in the end :)

I can definitely see him knowing Maks especially, since both families harboured muggleborn refugees back in the day (though Rolf wasn't as personally involved as Maks).

I don't know as much about Anzelm, but I'd love for him to have relationships with his former school mates, especially in the same year!

Eeeeexcellent. Maks needs friends who are not a) played by me or b) Yakov, bless him!

Anzelm will take more friends. He possibly affectionately takes the mickey out of the Scandinavians on occasion but liked them really :)

Yay! Rolf needs friends too. Rolf will joke that he speaks a lot of languages too, but actually he just mostly understands all those easily transposed scandanavian languages.

Rolf says that he's only Swedish until it's inconvenient. He has some American and English on his dad's side, so I can totally see him be like "Excuse you. Can't you tell I'm actually American?" as a joke.

Bro! You go do that work thing and I will sit here and sunbathe, okay? Okay.

So, that was Yakov.

Valentina is also kind of shy, so they could either get on, or be hopelessly socially awkward at each other.

Myron probably scares him, which is a shame, because Myron finds all that magizoology shit fascinating.

Luke is also kind of nervous with people, and I think they could get on well if they had cause to talk. I'm not sure where that would come up, though. They don't even run in the same circles.

Glenys will be nice, obviously, and so will Lucy.

Mel, Barney and Sally all probably make him anxious in different ways, haha. I apologise. They are all kind of scary in their own way. Sally can sympathise on the anxiety attack front, though! They could talk about that after she gives him one.

Lee wants to talk about spiders.

Dean will come to know him through Luna :-) Dean is a relatively unscary person and pretty laidback, so they should get on well.

Alex he will come to know via both Luna and Vic. Alex wants to rip him apart mercilessly so badly, but he is holding himself back right now because Luna would do that disappointed thing and Vic might stop having sex with him so... it's not worth it.

Romilda... oh dear, poor Rolf, run! They have connection via Vic. Jade would actually like to be his friend, but accepts that's quite unlikely as her reputation will precede her. Evan doesn't have much reason to interact with him.
