Okay, here goes. Throwing in my goblet kids.

Barney Dunstan (Hufflepuff '96) is an impossibly bouncy and energetic young man with abs you could bounce rocks off. Just saying. I've postwarted him before and he's always been a farmer but I thought I'd try something different this time, so he's a professional Quidditch player. He plays Keeper for the Tutshill Tornados and has done since 1999 when their Keeper Merwyn Fenwick suffered a bout of Narcolepsy in a match against the Ballycastle Bats and was forced to take early retirement. Barney is very very friendly, super sweet, not all that smart, and has a tendency to write and talk in run on sentences with not enough punctuation. He was very close friends with Cedric so was already having a rough time before Umbridge got there to mess up his last year at school. He hasn't always been pro-Harry, but he never believed the crap about Muggle-borns stealing magic and would have tried to help any he came across during that year, hiding them in his barn. Barney has several older brothers and sisters and one younger brother, Bamber, who was Hufflepuff class of '99. If your character would know him, Bamber is the odd one out in the family as although he's not unfriendly, he doesn't have much of a sense of social norms so can come across quite rude. Barney still lives with his parents in a big farmhouse and has impossibly good relationships with everyone in his family, being especially close to his sole sister, Beatrice. You won't be able to avoid him, I'm afraid, as he talks to pretty much everyone indiscriminately and cannot take a hint to go away.

[info]wrongfandom
Luke Hammonds (Ravenclaw '95) is a muggle-born geek who is all about Star Wars and dreams of being a Jedi (but knows, rationally, he's not really a fighter). He is slightly socially awkward, especially with girls, he's smart, kind of shy, and far too serious. He currently works for the Ministry in the Dept of Magical Transportation, but is thinking about setting up his own business, he's just not sure what as yet. He's likely to get less play that Barney because he doesn't tend to talk to people he doesn't know very much. He'll just be cute and geeky into the ether. Luke's real name is Julian but he uses his middle name, Luke, for obvious geeky Star Wars reasons. Luke has older, non-magical siblings and although he doesn't fight with his family or anything, they are kind of distant with him as they don't really understand his world. Anyone want to be flatmates or something with him? Bonus points for a girl who would wander round in a towel after taking a shower because I like making him awkward and uncomfortable.

[info]bread_and_roses
Mel Pennyfeather (Gryffindor '97) is a very very political young lady. She's a feminist, a Marxist, and anti-oppression of all kinds. Her older sister is a lesbian, so this includes being strongly anti-homophobic. She's very passionate and will talk your ear off about the oppression of anyone given half a chance. She loves debating (or arguing), Quidditch and men. During the Tri-wizard tournament, Mel ran a 'Model International Confederation of Wizards' which was mostly an international debating society. In her post-Hogwarts life she has continued in this vein and now works as an undersecretary for the actual International Confederation of Wizards. She basically got this job by writing letters to the ICW representatives until one of them agreed to have her on their team (this is modelled after someone I know who got a job as secretary to an MP the same way). She loves her work and is likely to talk about it a lot. Sorry. Mel's pretty friendly and particularly likes being friends with people from different backgrounds. She can get quite wearing, though, and has a habit of pushing boyfriends away by arguing politics with them all the time. Those of you who knew Mel in Goblet should be aware that not only has she changed her PB and name, but also her ethnicity. She's now half-Pakistani rather than half-Indian and her first name is Malala, after the Pashtan warrior of Afghanistan. She still shortens it to Mel though. Younger characters may know her eccentric aunt, Professor Pennyfeather, who taught Transfiguration after McGonagall became headmistress.

[info]fiaba
Valentina Moretti (Beauxbatons '95) is a fairytale princess, with a wicked stepmother and two ugly (in personality) half-sisters. She's Italian originally, but due to being bullied in her own home, she's lived mainly abroad since finishing school. She's highly intelligent and a skilled linguist, which has led to her becoming an interpreter and translator. She works freelance but has frequent recurring contracts so she gets along quite well, financially. She frequently accompanies her BFF Remy Laurent on tour. She is fluent in Italian, French, Greek and English, and proficient in Portugese, Spanish, German, Yiddish, Venetian and Latin. She's learning more all the time. Valentina is very shy and has a habit of becoming very cold when with people she doesn't know as a defence mechanism, which can make her seem snobby. When with people she knows, however, she is warm and sweet and excessively kind, to the point where you could easily take advantage of her if you so chose. She has a fear of the sun because her mother died of skin cancer and is quite OCD about putting on sun lotion. She can also be kind of clingy and jealous because she is constantly waiting for people she loves to be taken away from her. Hopefully she'll know some of you because otherwise she probably won't talk to you!

First off, I thought of Mel when I saw Malala Yousafzai giving her UN speech yesterday.

Anyway, first let's start off with my Goblet kids:

Barney:
Tiago still thinks Barney is cool and hopes the surf board is still in good condition.
Hamish will also still be friendly.
Samir is his buddy through and through in spite of the long distance currently separating them. Barney will hopefully remember Samir's birthday was yesterday (and Rémy's is today).
Cormac feels like going NYEH NYEH NYEH I GOT ALLEGRA AND WE HAVE A KID TOGETHER NYEH NYEH because he still doesn't get it that they were just friends. *sighs*
Zoe still finds him adorable.

Luke:
Tiago might have had the sort of upbringing where the lines between muggle and wizarding culture are a little bit more blurry, but he's still a bit clueless about Star Wars. He'll still be nice.
Hamish is still more into Who than SW, sorry. (And yes, his boggart still looks like a Dalek!) Still, Muggle-raised Ravenclaws FTW.
Likewise, Samir is more into comic books when it comes to geekiness. He'll be friendly and excitable, though, because he always is.
Cormac thinks Luke is a bit of a weirdo.
Zoe still has a teensy weensy crush on him because she has a soft spot for geeky, awkward guys.

Mel:
Tiago represented Portugal in her Model ICW, so he'll definitely remember her! He'll be friendly and chill and talk to her about Portuguese politics.
Hamish represented Scotland, so ditto, and will talk about Scotland independance.
Again, Samir represented Egypt. They can talk about gay rights.
I can assume Mel and Cormac are still friends? I'm looking forward to her reaction to Cormac doing some modelling on the side. And to his skills as a father.
Zoe... Well, we can assume their animosity is long gone since the Potter vs Cedric factions are a thing in the past. Zoe has actually always admired Mel.

Valentina:
Tiago still calls her Princesa and treats her as one.
Hamish doesn't know her that well. He's wondering if she's ever considered learning Scottish Gaelic.
Samir absolutely ADORES her.
Cormac would have tried to hit on her in the past, but he's a good boy now. Well, that and he doesn't want to die.
Zoe doesn't know her that well either.

Malala is so awesome. I think she still lives in my city after coming to the hospital here. I am tempted to stalk her. That would almost certainly get me fired, though.

Barney says the surfboard may be a little bashed but it is still usable.
LOL, oh Cormac.

Luke likes Who too, just not as much as Star Wars.
Aww Zoe.

Mel is friends with all of yours, essentially. She at least approves that Cormac is a hands-on father and not one of these who leaves it all to the mother except the fun parts.

Tiago is a sweetheart. Valentina says learning Scottish Gaelic would be a bit pointless because everyone who speaks Scottish Gaelic also speaks English, so she wouldn't have anyone to translate to.
Haha, Cormac doesn't want to die.

Oh dear. Stalking is definitely not a good idea, no matter how tempting. She is indeed made of awesome, though.

Good, Tiago says. He and Barney should get together some time and hit the waves.
Cormac will be Cormac, no matter how much time has passed.

Cormac has to be a hands-on father since he's trying to make sure he does the exact opposite of what his own father did.

Cormac knows well enough what Allegra would do if he was to hit on other women, so he's adopted the "look, don't touch" philosophy.

Barney is so up for hitting the waves, you have no idea.

And now for the other kiddies:

Barney:
Declan is his agent, so I'm guessing they'll get along well? At least, better than Cormac and Barney (from Cormac's perspective), anyway.
Leah thinks he's adorable but gets a bit of a headache whenever she talks to him.
Jamie is a year younger than Bamber, so there may be a bit of an age difference here. Still, I can see them getting along quite well.
Miles will be his annoying teasing self and try to have some mock-rivalry Quidditch banter. They can bond over chickens. :P

Luke:
Declan also finds Luke a bit weird, but unlike his dear brother he'll be polite. His days of calling people "trollbrain" just for the fun of it are long gone.
Leah is much younger, but they have the Ministry and being former Ravenclaws as connections. She's sharing a flat with her kid brother and would never parade in a towel in front of him so alas no awkward factor, but if he needs a flat hers is available.
Jamie knows what he's talking about and can make references to it, though he's not a die-hard fan. He'll be friendly.
Miles just sniggers.

Mel:
She might remember Declan as Cormac's snotty little git of a baby brother, and will therefore be surprised with how much he's grown (in more ways than one). He'll be friendly and pleasant and hopes she'll have forgiven him for being such a brat when he was younger.
Leah and Mel should be friends! Leah is all about feminism and equal rights, after all.
Jamie will be nice.
Miles agrees with some of her viewpoints, but will still mock and be silly.

Valentina:
Miles will be friendly in his Miles-ish way. Everyone else will be nice.

I didn't mention Luna because, well, she's Luna and she'll treat everybody the same. She'll call Mel "Malala" because she only tends to treat people by their nicknames of abbreviated names when they ask her to, like Lucy, and will share her way of looking at life with them whether they like it or not.

Yay! Let's see... I can't see anything changing for Anzelm or Larissa with any of these guys from Goblet, no?

Anais... still friends with Valentina? She stayed in France after school so they have the ex pat thing going on too. She will shortly be playing against Barney.

Leon fled the UK with his family during the war and lived in France. We should definitely discuss him and Luke in this period. Perhaps bumped into Valentina that way? He will perhaps see Barney if Barney attends celeb type events.

I shall ponder Kevin...

That all sounds good.

Damn it, I knew I had to think about Luke and the war and I completely forgot. I guess he's going to Azkaban :-/ He was working in the Ministry so he'd have been picked up pretty quickly.

Barney does not really understand celeb events so I don't think he'll be going unless someone drags him.

I know technically he could, but I feel like if he was working at the Minstry at the time they would have been stricter with him? idk

Aw man, poor Luke! (And hey, being real here, some poor sods had to end up in Azkaban. Leon will have guilt over this. Oops.)

Awww. *pats befuddled brain* They are all a bit older so may not know yours very well. Let's see.

Barney:
Cece - he will come and eat cake, probably.
Yue - Barney's pretty friendly, so I think he'll like Yue well enough. Barney's younger brother Bamber was a Hufflepuff in Yue's year.
Anthony - they play on the same Quidditch team! So that will be fun. I think they'll get on well enough.
Ethan - probably not much there.

Luke:
Cece - I can't think of anything there.
Yue - yep, nothing for him either. Luke isn't very outgoing.
Anthony - they can be Ravenclaw muggle-borns together.
Ethan - maybe something with Ethan's grandfather, since he was a muggle-born working at the Ministry when the war started?

Mel:
Cece - Mel is all go sister! for the single parent having her own business thing. So she'll be friendly.
Yue - she's Gryffindor, a couple of years older, but she'd probably date him if he still needs dates. if not, friendly anyway?
Anthony - Mel's a bit Quidditch fan and her dad is a Sports journalist, so there's a vague connection there. He's not a horrible paparazzi type, though, she wants me to tell you.
Ethan - probably not much there.

Valentina:
Cece - she is too quiet to know Cece.
Yue - they are both good at languages. That's it.
Anthony - um... yeah, same as Cece.
Ethan - and another for nothing.
