A pair of hazel eyes gazed at her, she felt them on her as she sipped at her coffee with her school mates. She didn't glance behind her, but her friends saw him looking to. They all leaned forward and started whispering which made the young brown haired girl at the table blush. When they were setting up to leave, she grabbed her bag and then turned to face the boy that had his eyes on her.
Her bag dropped to the ground.
"Hello Rachel." The voice that came from the man wasn't exactly the one she remembered, but the way he looked, it was like looking directly at him again.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" She didn't want to jump the gun, she didn't want to get her hopes up that it was Simon.
Alec gazed at the girl in front of him. "It's Simon." He hated saying that name, hated the lie that it held.
She hadn't left like she had wanted to after he told her everything. She actually understood which was odd to Alec. She didn't run, she hit him but it was a light hit. It was as if she was scared of hurting him.
Now Rachel's found herself with a son and a daughter, and perhaps one day a child of her own. Piotr and Hope were all that she needed right now. She was going to be a wife. She was marrying Alec McDowell and she was sure that her father would be turning in his grave at the moment, screaming and cursing for it.
Rachel was aiming for a spring wedding, something to bring the new year in with hope and love. An old acquaintance had come back to her, she smiled and then glanced out the window tilting her head, in a few days time it would be a brand new year with Alec. She smiled and pushed the curtain out of her way to watch Piotr carrying his little sister around the garden, for once in her life Rachel Berrisford felt like she belonged to something.
