Appearance: Emma is 5'4", and very slim. Her most notable feature is that every natural part of herself (hair, fingernails, excluding clothing), is diamond. She is brilliantly white, reflecting even the weakest light. For this reason she is almost always seen covered from head to toe, using a parasol to keep the sun off if she goes outside, to keep herself from dazing anyone with the sun's reflected light. She wears ballet flats, and her clothing is typically a dark color, to offset the brilliance of her body.
Regina is a different matter. She is still 5'4", and still has a slim build, but the similarities end there. She has pale skin, and often changes hair color with wigs, though usually she prefers blonde. Nobody has ever seen her without her wigs on, and none really care to. Regina's clothing choices tend toward the bright, flashier end of the spectrum. She is always in high heels (masking her short stature). Regina is rarely seen without a cell phone or tablet computer in her hands.
Personality: Emma is, as you might have gathered from the application so far, an unusual character. She is very cunning and ruthless. Her mutation is an opportunity to her, and a very good one at that. Emma will do anything to get ahead in the business world, and success is her main motivation. This drive is something she didn't have prior to the flare, and many people wonder if it's a result of her physical mutation. On top of being driven and ruthless, Emma is secretive. Nobody knows about her secondary personality, and nobody Regina associates with knows she has telepathy.
Regina is a false identity Emma created when she realized that her powers were not always on. The best part about Regina is not that she is able to relate to other people (Which is actually a bother for Emma), but that she has telepathy. This power has been heavily utilized by Emma to find out things about competing businesses. For this reason Regina plans to seek admittance to the Hellfire Club when she is old enough (probably as a stripper). Even if the money isn't good, the opportunity to use her powers on some of the most well-connected minds makes her salivate.
Emma is vain and greedy, putting herself above everyone else. This seems like arrogance to most people, but in Emma's mind she is the pinnacle of perfection. In order for her to even deal with normal people she has to stop being invulnerable and super strong, and even then nobody has an secrets from her. Emma is all about control and power. The more of these things she has, the better she feels.
The only 'weakness' Emma allows herself is concern over her fellow mutants. She is certain that they are the next step in evolution, there to take out the trash left over by human beings. She is dedicated to the idea that perhaps in a couple generations there will be some people worth having a conversation with, somewhere.
Powers:
Diamond Form Emma's body turns completely into a hard organic diamond. This includes all parts, even her hair and fingernails. It does not extend to her clothing. In this form Emma does not sleep, eat, drink, or feel any but the vaguest emotions. Her mind is impenetrable to all but the most powerful telepaths, and even they see very little in her mind. There is a flaw in her structure which, when hit with enough force, would shatter her whole body and kill her. It is somewhere on her face, and Emma doesn't know it exists.
Telepathy Though her telepathy is inaccessible to Emma in her diamond form, she is quite skilled in its use. She is able to read the thoughts of others, influence their decisions, and even view their memories. She is able to do this without being obtrusive, but some of her other talents require her to be able to focus solely on them. Things like Astral Projection, for example.
In time she will be able to forcibly switch her thoughts and memories with those of another person, essentially swapping bodies with the other person. The danger of this is that it requires her to either swap with a telepath, or rely on the other person using her powers to switch back.
Other Abilities: Emma is a clever businesswoman even without her powers, and has connections to various other wealthy families.
History:
Emma was the third and last child born to Winston and Hazel Frost. Her early life was far different than most little girls, even the daughters of business moguls. Soon after Emma's birth Hazel began heavily abusing prescription drugs. This was because their oldest child, Christian, had just been kicked out of boarding school for suspected homosexual activity. While this wasn't strictly against the rules, none of the other boys would share a room with him. At least not after it was announced over the public address system. Christian was very upfront with his parents about the situation. He came out the moment they questioned him about it. Within a week he was in permanent psychiatric care to 'cure' him of his disease.
Emma was left with only her older sister, Adrienne. Their father was a hard man before Hazel became an addict, and he only got harder when he saw the disgrace his wife had become. She was constantly mewling over her little boy, and he wanted none of that. He took his frustrations out on his daughters, pushing them as hard as possible to be perfect.
At first, Emma struggled with this. She wasn't as smart as her older sister, and that made her inferior. Rather than despise herself over it, she resolved to do better, to be the best. Not for her father, though, for she held no love for him or the empty shell of a person her mother had become. She wanted to be the best because that was her right. She pushed herself hard, and her teachers always commented on how serious she was. Emma found that she had few friends, though the ones she had were loyal to her. This helped ease the anxiety of being in competition with Adrienne, and Emma came to enjoy school much more than home. She became involved in every club, every activity.
This persisted into high school, where she caught the eye of the science teacher, Ian Kendall. He caught her eye as well, and she soon came up with every excuse she could to be around him. By then she had developed physically, and knew that he found her attractive. He was young and intelligent, and seemed to think that she had worth. That was all that Emma cared about.
She wanted him so badly, it seemed to consume her whole world. It was only then, with this knowledge of sexual yearning, that Emma realized her father spoke of his assistant the way she spoke of Ian. Intrigued, Emma investigated, and found out that his assistant was not only his mistress, but also the mother of his daughter, a little girl named Cordelia. This knoweldge was the best gift Emma had ever received. She lorded her blackmail over her father, and he even said he was proud of her for it. It was the first time she had ever heard him say that, and it threw her off a great deal.
Still, life was easier with her father more compliant. She was almosted finished with high school and was preparing to go to college, eagerly counting down the days to her eighteenth birthday, and her legal ability to pursue a more intimate relationship with Ian Kendall. He certainly seemed receptive. Her birthday was December 30th. Days before her most eagerly anticipated birthday ever, the Flare happened. Emma's transformation was immediate and excrutiating. Every fiber of her being was twisted into diamond, and she felt her emotions flatline. She was the only mutant to come from the house. Doctors were scarce, and Emma found herself free of guilt when she purposely made sure that her entire family died of radiation sickness. With the cell phones non-functional and most of the infrastructure of the city gone, all she had to do was lock them in their rooms and arrange their bodies when they were too weak to move. It was a simple task really, and she had so much to gain. Her father would have hated for her to give up such a chance.
Ian was among the survivors, but not a mutant. Despite Emma's difficulty with emotion, she found that he still stirred a need in her. This need was intense, all the more so for being the only emotion she could feel. She threw herself on him, using every wile she had. He shoved her away, disgusted and afraid. That was the day Emma learned her most important lesson. People were weak, and easily frightened.
This idea was only emphasized in the coming hysteria. Emma was clear heir of all her father's holdings, thanks to his will. She traveled to all of hte homes he owned, stripping them of anything useful and donating them to the cause, to get media attention focused on her. People were fearful, but perhaps those in the same boat as her would be more understand, less stupid. She met Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr, and immediately began pursuing them for an alliance. They had a plan, and Emma had the means, or would as soon as she turned 25.
It was around this time that Emma realized she was able to shift between her diamond form and her former body. This pleased her, because with her old body came new powers. She moved into the house her father was keeping his assistant and daughter in, pretending to care for them. At night, when they were asleep, she tormented them in their dreams with her powers. It was during these nights that Emma gained control of her her powers. After a few months she began sneaking out, going to the stock exchange, to colleges, to businesses. She used her telepathy to gather information, and she soon became adept at playing the stock market.
Along the way she ran into another telepath. This woman was a little older, and had to deal with her powers at all times. Her shielding was superb. Emma took great pleasure in taking the other telepath's mind apart, learning all her secrets. Regina (for that was the name Emma used when she was flesh, to avoid people knowing that she could change back and forth between her diamond and flesh forms), became lovers with the telepath, and even pretended to care for her. The girl was so blinded by her fear and loneliness that she immediately latched onto Regina. Emma was careful not to care for the older woman, and it wasn't hard. She was a soppy, weak woman, despite her iron control of her powers. After three months, Emma was able to extract all the knowledge she needed from the older woman. She moved away from Boston, without informing her now-former lover.
New York suited Emma much more as a permanent home, anyway. She enrolled into school for her own amusement, and began planning her next move, so that she would be prepared when she was finally give control of her father's empire.
Affiliation: Unaffiliated. Emma comes to the Haven frequently to plan public maneuvers with Xavier and be among her own kind, but doesn't see the need for constant contact with other people, and going in as Regina is a risk, since Xavier may be able to penetrate her mental shields.

P E R S O N A L I T Y Kimi is bouncy to excess. She drinks, laughs, and sings more and louder than anyone around her by nature. She's a non-stop party machine! At least as far as her friends can see. Though she's smart and realizes that she's doing damage to her body, she doesn't care, because as far as she can tell, there's no point in saving her body for later in life, when she will have less need of it. After all, why avoid sex now just so she could have a lackluster sex life later? Would she need her liver when she was too old to go out and enjoy drinks with friends? At the moment, the distinct answer, at least in her mind, is no. She rarely gets attached to people she sleeps with, and even most of her friends are temporary, though she has a lot of them to make up for it.
Despite her partygirl ways, Kimi has a serious side, which comes out in her writing and painting. She is dedicated to her craft, and eager to learn more about tattoos and art, her two loves. For those things, she is serious, doing her homework thoroughly before she goes out to drink her liver into submission

P E R S O N A L H I S T O R Y Kimi was the second child of her parents, and their last, by choice. After Mark, they were a bit gun shy about even having Kimi, due to a difficult pregnancy. Though Kimi was born with few complications, the couple decided to undergo sterilization surgery anyway.
Being their last child and only daughter, Kimi was a little spoiled. She loved to go to the beach, and her parents facilitated that whenever they could, meaning both children spent a lot of time outdoors. Mark learned how to surf first, and taught Kimi when she was older. The two were close, or as close as they could be, given the age gap (five years), and the fact that they were different genders.
School was a bit of a challenge for Kimi, who always felt out of place. A lot of times she was seen as the typical Asian girl, and many of her peers copied off of her, to their regret. Kimi didn't try hard to be stupendous, and was quite content to just get by. It frustrated her parents,until they realized that she had never failed an art assignment. In fact, she'd never gotten less than a 'b'. Realizing that she had little passion for anything other than art, her parents enrolled her in a school for the artistically gifted, and told her that she had to maintain a 'b' average to stay there, and her first quarter that dipped below that would be her last. Akima graduated with honors, and sent out applications to many art colleges, mostly on the East Coast, where she felt there would be fewer preconcieved notions pertaining to her ethnicity.
She decided to go to the college close to Kernecord because she wanted to see snow, and didn't want to deal with the big city bullshit anymore. Since her arrival Kimi has been painting like a madwoman, and working hard to attain her current position as an apprentice at Skin Deep Studios.

Brief History: Lorna is the illegitimate daughter of Magneto, and was born with bright green hair, though she is technically a mutate, whose powers only manifested because of outside influence. She joined the X-men at Bobby’s urging, and they dated briefly, before Alex arrived at the mansion. Alex and Lorna struck up a relationship, and left the X-men together to pursue their mutual passion of geophysics.
They would come back to the X-men, and leave again, several times. Their relationship was always rocky, with both being stubborn and hard headed. Lorna often struck out on her own specifically to prove that she could.
It was during a rough patch that she was recruited to X-Factor, a government run version of the X-men, which was less successful than its predecessor. Lorna came to be close to the whole team, including Pietro when he was part of it, though that relationship was very meager. However, it was obvious that Alex was one of the sole reasons she stayed, even when he became abusive toward her, due to his personal drama and mission.
The dissolution of X-Factor, and the loss of Alex to a coma were rough on Lorna. She became increasingly withdrawn, and even went to Genosha to help Magneto prevent civil war. She was there when it was decimated, and felt the souls of every person who died there pass through the Magnetic field that was keeping her from being crushed.
She was brought back to the institute, and considered to be completely unhinged. This only became more apparent when Alex woke up from his coma and she proposed. The wedding came quickly, though Alex was in love with another woman. He wound up leaving her at the altar, which seriously unhinged her sanity. She chased Alex, intent on killing him. She failed, and fled, unable to stand staying with Xavier anymore.
House of M saw her powers taken away, and she was not only alone, but also helpless. When Apocalypse’s men came to capture her, she was easily taken. Ironically, the transformation into Pestilence left Lorna more coherent, and having her powers back in a non-invasive (if somewhat uncontrolled), form helped her mentality greatly. It was this newfound mental clarity that allowed her to escape.
There was more drama connected to Apocalypse, but when she had broken the programming, and fled to the institute, the pursuit ceased by and large, and her spot was filled.
Tired of the suck that was associated with being a hero, Lorna quit in the most dramatic fashion she possibly could, and stormed off, hoping that no one would follow her.
The invitation to the island was waiting at her parent’s home when she arrived, and she eagerly accepted, glad for the chance to get away from it all.
Why is this character here? Lorna needs a vacation from her life, and time to recuperate while being pampered and exploring her somewhat stifled sexuality.

KNOWLEDGE ON CHARACTER AND FANDOM; I haven't read X-men all my life, but I've done a lot of research on Lorna. Most of my canon knowledge comes from the run of X-Factor and Kingbreaker/War of Kings. This isn't even half of her canon (she was one of the first X-men to join after the originals, though she didn't stay), but it's a large cross section of years, and shows her in many lights and from many points of view.
She seems to rarely grow, or any growth she achieves is swept away the next time they pull her out of obscurity. Her base character is that of an unwilling hero, and she always winds up sacrificing love or herself for 'the greater good'.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN THIS CHARACTER?; Despite Lorna's shortcomings, which are mostly the result of not being a supermajor character (or of simply being a comic book character), she is a great character. She is loyal, hardworking, and empathetic. Despite her reluctance to be a superhero, when she dedicated herself to a cause, no matter how or why, she would go through hell or high water to make sure that things went well.
She's always wanted to know more about herself. Though she rarely has time to work through her problems, she really, really wants to become more centered with herself, emotionally, physically (including her mutation), and spiritually. She's lapsed religiously, but part of her still seems to be searching for the divine, whatever she decides that means.
YOUR CHARACTER HAVE ANY INTERESTING OR SPECIAL/RARE GIFT OR ABILITY? Lorna can, thanks to nanobots (a long story in and of itself), control a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, specifically, well, magnetism. Her natural powers were more expansive, and she has used lightening and altered visible light waves.
She also has, from the same experiment that gave her the nanobots the ability to metabolize and disperse bacteria and viruses. She can even combine illnesses to create a 'supersickness'. This power is unavailable in her current state, but if she were to be mentally manipulated, it could be brought to the fore again.

Name: Nathan Christopher Charles Summers
Fandom: Marvel (X-men Forever)
History or Personality:
Nathan was born to Scott Summers and Madelyn Pryor. Unlike his 616 version, Madelyn was not insane in his universe. Instead, of hiding out in Alaska, Scott took his new family to the Xavier mansion, assuming that the proximity to his fellow mutants would keep them safe.
This idea was incorrect, however, and Madelyn died in an attack on the mansion before Nathan was more than a couple months old.
Scott was devastated, and quickly moved the young boy away from the mansion. Corsair, Scott's father, took the boy in, and the two men lived in Corsair's mother's house, so the boy would have a maternal figure to look up to.
Nathan loved Alaska as he grew, and eagerly enjoyed outings with his father and uncle to see the wildlife. The times when Scott could come see Nathan were rare, and the young boy treasured every visit. Nathan was unaware of any of the troubles his father went through as an X-man, which meant he was also unaware of the reasons Scott stayed with them. Over time, he developed a deep dislike of the team, for keeping his father so far away.
Any special abilities:
Nathan is a developing telepath and telekinetic. So far he has not shown any use of his powers at all.

PERSONALITY: Above all else, Lorna is stubborn. She will not bend to anyone or anything unless she wants to. This is the only reason she's survived as long as she has in her superheroing, as far as she's concerned. If she weren't so stubborn she'd probably be dead.
Passionate is another word that leaps to mind when others think of her. Moody follows quickly after, though. Lorna would simply say that she's quite emotional. When she's happy she feels wonderful, as though the world is perfect and nothing can go wrong. When she's feeling sad, the world is a horrible tragic place and she can't deal with it. Sometimes she switches between the two extremes very quickly.
Lorna is also loyal and honest. She's a very bad liar, which is occasionally the only reason she is honest. Loyalty is something that comes naturally to her, though, as if she can't imagine giving up on the people she loves. Love is something Lorna believes in very strongly (no matter how much she protests the fact), and she will do anything for the people she loves.
Lorna's most redeeming feature, in her own eyes, is her sense of humor. She'll often try to cheer herself and others up with jokes. This is a self-preservation thing, in her own mind, since she is often in a hurry to assume the worst about a situation. Especially when she's acting as a superhero.
Though she knows she's doing something good, and she truly believes in Xavier's dream (so much so that she has been described as being the one who believes in it the most), Lorna does not want to be a superhero. She'd much rather be doing geological surveys than preventing galactic war. She does what is needed, but she doesn't enjoy it as much as she enjoys her 'real' work.
ABILITIES: Lorna has nanites in her blood that give her a facsimile of her magnetic powers. Like Magneto, she can manipulate magnetic waves and ferrous material to do her bidding. Unlike Magneto, her powers are no longer driving her crazy. An EMP blast might be able to take out her nanites and leave her powerless.
These nanites also boost her metabolism, which means that poisons and drugs work their way through her system much faster than normal. Her nanites are also said to be evolving, so her powers are changing over time.
Lorna also has a masters in Geophysics, and the basics of self-defense training. She's in very good shape, but not exceptionally strong or flexible.
WEAKNESSES: Lorna's powers aren't as easy for her to control as they used to be, and she's a very weak fighter. She has always trained in fighting as a group, or with a partner, which means she's not a very good fighter on her own. While drugs won't tranquilize her for very long, they are effective for a short period.
CANON POINT: up to the end of War of Kings (her entire canon thus far)
WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE COLLECTOR?: Lorna is in a symbiotic relationship with her nanites, and that relationship is always changing. She was collected so that this change can be more easily observed and shaped.

ABOUT
About
I'm a 24 year old woman. My first and favorite fandom is X-men, and many of my characters come from there. I like comic books and fantasy worlds. Greek mythology is very dear to my heart as well.
Style
Level of Experience: I have several years worth of RP experience, in a variety of mediums. I've done tabletop, message board, AIM, journal, and tag team storywriting
Preferred Platform: I prefer to play on IJ, but am willing to do so over e-mail or google docs as well.
Style: I prefer novel-style threading, though I don't enjoy the amount of embellishment some people put into their posts. I see no reason to use five words when one will do.
RP Type: I like relationship driven RP. I want to form bonds between characters, and see them grow with each other. I also enjoy dynamic settings, where plots, big or small, tend to be the communal focus.
Plot Duration: Any duration is fine, but if a plot has permanent consequences I prefer that the next plot not undo those consequences except in extreme cases.
Planning: I'd like to have an idea of what is going to happen, but I don't need to know every detail.
Post Length: There's no hard and fast rule of what I like and don't like here. Give my character something to respond to, either verbally or physically, and don't throw in too much irrelevant information. While some description is lovely, the meat of the tag should be how the characters are interacting.
Point of View: Third person
Tense: Don't care, but be consistent
Warnings
I'm not always on AIM, and sporadically slow. Sometimes I will forgo tagging at all for one reason or another. I also have been known to let a few typos slip by. I also end sentences with propositions. My characters are almost always at least moderately sexual, but I'm willing to hand wave any interactions, and they usually know when to back off.
