Rey seeking Kylo or Finn for PSL rewrite of Sequel Series.
In my opinion, the sequels were a hot mess; I would say they were even a dumpster fire at the end. Character development was stunted, and I felt nothing for the way the romance between Rey and Kylo was orchestrated. Beloved or intriguing characters established in the original trilogy and in TFA were later sidelined and turned into props for new characters to establish dominance over - or their legacy was destroyed entirely. The plot felt like it was written by several different people who were all taking it different places (I think JJ wrote 1 and 3, but the middle was written by someone else, and you never change a horse midstream). It was a mess.
I still loved it, because I could see the potential in some of the groundwork they were laying in the first movie. The thing is, when I see potential in something, I desperately want it to reach that potential. It may have been a mess, but it was an inspirational mess!
Sooo.
I want to do a rewrite, and I want to make it the epic it could have been (or at least try to). Together we’ll give the characters the development they deserved, and tweak and alter the plot until it’s like the Game of Thrones of Star Wars. Rey won’t be a Palpatine; Snoke won’t get offed too early in the story; Finn won’t be sidelined for the sake of establishing Rose - they’ll both get to have epic character development and get to be heroes.
There's a lot that would stay the same, but there's also a lot that would change.
This would require each of us to play several key characters (Leia, Han, Luke, to name a few), but I am all about doubling up if anyone is game!
Ships I Sail include, but are not limited to: Rey/Kylo Rey/Finn Finn/Poe Finn/Rose
About Me I am an adult human person, female, living in the Southern half of the United States. I love to write, and I’m doing a lot of work right now to become a better digital artist (which means I will likely practice by illustrating scenes we write that inspire me!). I write in the 3rd Person Past Tense, and I expect the same from my partner, anywhere from a few lines (rapid fire scenes that are dialogue heavy) to several paragraphs (introspection, world building, scene establishing). I will generally match the length of my partner's posts, but I am not the type to consistently/frequently write novellas.
I’m not a hardcore fan of Star Wars, so if you want someone who’s read all the books and seen every movie 80+ times, and knows all the lore, that is not going to be me. I’m inspired by the concepts in Star Wars. The balance of the Force, the interconnectedness of all things in the universe, the moral ambiguity and fine line between good and evil. Also, the spaceships and aliens, I mean, come on.
If this is something that interests you, please feel free to send me a message. I would love to hear others’ ideas and start brainstorming.
