Plagued by nightmares, Katsuko just wants to get drunk and sleep, but blowing a hole in Konoha with uncontrolled chakra is not a good way to get cathartic. Ryouma might have sympathy, but Kakashi has seals, and Katsuko only wants a guard for one night.

In A Light That Never Goes Out, Kakashi wakes up to find Ryouma gone again. The day gets stranger from there.
In a slight change of pace, Ki and I have done something stylistically different and written a thread entirely from one point of view. A Light That Never Goes Out is a three-part oneshot that follows a day in the life with Kakashi and Ryouma--which, predictably, is nothing like any other day.
Warning: the final part contains sexually explicit material and is R-rated.

Nightmares are a fact of life for ninja, much like torture. And enemies. And teammates you kind of can't stand. All four at once is pushing it, though. Kakashi and Genma are back in Break Me Back Together, and yes, you guessed it -- it just gets worse.
Except this time, maybe, it gets a little bit better too.

One and a half days after Learn the Hard Way and only a few hours after Pakkun delivered Kakashi's message to the Hokage in Mightier Than The Sword, a message was on its way back to Iwagakure. The Stone ninja had no choice but to cease interrogating the captured Leaf ANBU. In I Don't Like It but I Guess I'm Learning Genma and Kakashi are reunited in a bare cell, with nothing but their hopes and their fears between them.

The day after This Time is Different, Kakashi's training to get himself back into mission shape--and to keep his mind off of Ginta and Ryouma. He's doing a pretty good job of it too, until Katsuko shows up wearing one of Ryouma's shirts.
Katsuko just wanted a nice, relaxing day in the practice fields doing kata--what she got instead was an angry man with grey, gravity-defying hair translocating in front of her and demanding why she smelled like Ryouma. There is, Kakashi and Katsuko discover, Something We've Been Missing.
