With a tiny internal sigh, Hoshi supposed that going 'all out' was exactly what Haruichi always did. He only did it without any show and as a matter of course, and that was why Hoshi doubted he would ever simply learn to take a situation at half-speed. Genma saying that it was how the ANBU behaved just gave her the feeling that that was where he'd learned to be that way, though she doubted spending that time with the medics as a kid had given him any ideas about taking it easy.

And then her thinking about that was cut very short by Genma's question, and the way he was peering at her from over the top of his cookie. She'd been watching his face carefully, his lips most of all, and she could percieve the lack of rhetoric and the certainty in his question. It made her toes twitch in just a little, and set Pika to opening one sleepy eye and staring over at Genma quietly.

She shook her head, told the truth (Haruichi had said they could never lie if the question came up) and decided against writing anything down on the subject. She lifted her hands and made her fingertips mimic the fall of water droplets. It was as close to onomatopoeia as sign language could come, and if Genma had picked up 'chakra' he would know 'rain' when he saw it.

Though suddenly she wished Haruichi was here. Not that she was afraid of Genma, or doubted him; but Haruichi always knew what to do when people's faces changed if they found out where she came from.
