If Hoshi hadn't been so irked and ill-settled by the prospect of Haruichi going out she'd probably have had a choice word or two for Genma's proposal, but as it was, the fact that he was kidding with her actually put her a bit at ease. At least she knew for sure Haruichi trusted him, or else her fiance would probably have just tried to kick him off the balcony. She gave Genma a sidelong look and a lifted eyebrow, then a small smile and a nod before vanishing into the bedroom.

Haruichi, for his part, gave Genma a narrow-eyed stare that perhaps did more to give away a spark of jealous protectiveness than to conceal it as he carefully leaned down and picked a coat up off the neatly folded stack by the door. "I'll be back very soon," he reitterated, and doubtless would have said more if Hoshi hadn't just then reappeared with a scarf and a solitary mitten which he was not allowed to depart without.

A few seconds later he was kitted out and over the threshold, but Hoshi still kissed his cheek instead of letting him say 'bye' - and let him feel a little of her temper in the touch. And then he was gone, and Hoshi was closing the door and sitting down next to her dog and looking at Genma. She made a faltering attempt at a normal, even-handed smile, but then sighed in aggravation and scrawled on her notepad before passing it to him.
