The crack to the back of the skull had been, Genma supposed, somewhat deserved. He was doubly annoyed at Haruichi now, for both hitting him, and for being stupid enough to get himself hurt on his first mission enough to get a cast which he then used as a weapon. Although using it as a weapon did show some ingenuity, and Genma figured it had to have hurt whatever bone was being mended. Certainly when he'd bumped a casted injury, on purpose or not, it had hurt like a bitch. And Haruichi wasn't whining. Still, he deserved something for that...

But caught in the sparkle of Hoshi's charm, Genma found himself unable to retaliate just yet. Instead he smiled, a broad, friendly smile, and bowed low. Then straightened, and remembering the woman was deaf, faced her fully, and exaggerated his speech just a little.

"Pleased to meet you at last, Hoshiko-san. Haruichi's said wonderful things about you." Of course she wouldn't remember their first meeting. Genma as anonymous ANBU spook at two in the morning was a far cry from Genma as charming young friend of her fiancé's, right?
