Raidou snorted. "Nothing that bad--well, maybe." He pulled his foot up, resting it on the low bar of the stool, and ignored Genma's directive to get on the bed. Well, didn't quite ignore--it was hard to ignore something that came with a speech attached--but he didn't act on it. "They gave me a kid."

And that was bombshell enough to distract Genma from his unnecessary back-fixing quest--hopefully. Raidou gave it a second just to really peak his gossip-loving friend's interest, and then continued. "Seriously, they want me to play big brother slash mentor for a rookie with a bloodline issue. I'm stuck on--on--" he waved a hand. "Baby-sitting duty."

Waving was a bad idea; it was just amazing what your back connected to. He dropped his elbow onto the counter and curled his fingers over the edge. "And for a punchline, I found the poor bastard chained to a wall." His mouth twisted. "He's only a chuunin. ANBU's going to eat him alive."
