He took a deep breath and didn't look up at the high walls. Didn't think about rooftops and leaping.

Leaping pulled... things.

A muscle jumped in his jaw, hidden by the curve of his mask. "Yeah. Sure." In an undertone he added, "I can't wait." It sounded less than sincere.

In a matter of minutes they were inside the village, up on the rooftops, and he kept following Raidou in an exhaustion haze. It didn't matter where he was going, as long as he kept going.

Then the hospital came into view, and he realized where they were going and why. And behind cool white porcelain, he blushed bright red. They'd told him before he'd left that they would want him in for a physical after, that they'd have to pump him full of more things for STDs--which they had done before he'd left, too, but it was an extra precaution, and one of those damned anti-whatevers made him sick, fuck it--and check that nothing had been damaged.

He didn't stop running, but his speed might have flagged a little.
