Characters: Ginger Thornburgh and Lady Agnes
Setting: Lady Agnes' quarters, the royal palace
Rating: Low?
Summary: Ginger returns to the palace bearing gifts for her mistress
Ginger had left the palace early that morning, arriving in Greenville just as the market had opened for business. It was her favorite time to be there, just as the town was waking up- but she'd sternly reminded herself not to dawdle, and had done her errands in what seemed like record time. She had picked up two letters- part of her mistress' correspondence- dropped off a third, and (impulsively) bought a small bag of sweet hard candies before heading back.
At the palace, it seemed that the only ones awake were the servants- but then, that was royalty for you, Ginger couldn't help but think, a wry smile on her face as she walked briskly toward her mistress' quarters. There was a breakfast tray sitting just outside the doorway, and she bent to pick it up before knocking once on the door- just to announce her presence, since Ginger knew well enough that Lady Agnes couldn't call for her to enter- and entering quietly, in case Lady Agnes was still asleep as well.
