He was grateful that she returned the hug and, after slipping his coat on, pulled his baton from his breast pocket, "Will you be alright? By yourself I mean. If you like I can come stay after I've talked with the King's advisor." It was still very stormy out and he could hear the rain pelting the windows and siding on the house. It wasn't a comfortable situation for humans - or so he noticed - though Vaan had always found it to be soothing. Gabrielle had a good selection of books to read so he would have plenty to keep him occupied while he sat awake.
"I should be at the Inn," Vaan said, conjuring a small bouquet of forget-me-nots, "My door should be open." He extended the bundle of blue flowers to her, his smile lingering a bit longer. She was the most beautiful creature he'd ever laid eyes on. "I--" he paused, his heart pounding against his ribs, "Please don't be angry." Leaning down he pressed his lips against her cheek and left them there for a few seconds. His body, overly warm from his Sorcerer's blood, felt as though it were on fire and he knew his cheeks were bright red. Stepping back he held his breath, hoping she wouldn't be offended, and opened the front door.
