Ariel was not having a good day.
Saturday, meeting Nat, had been so much fun, but by Monday, things had turned. First, she'd miscalculated and surfaced further south than she'd intended - she'd been aiming for the Forrest between Summerwood and Springwood. It was a set back, but she'd made the mistake before, so it wasn't going to ruin her whole day; she'd been to Springwood plenty of times before, and always enjoyed exploring it. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of her misfortunes for the day.
Because she'd Landed too far South, she was forced to go naked for far longer than she liked to, spending several hours, by her estimate, diving behind various obstacles trying to not be seen, until she finally happpend upon a clothesline, stealing a large men's shirt. It was huge on her, but still didn't quite cover her as much as she would have hoped. ...Then again, she did quite like her legs.
By the time she'd stolen the shirt, however, she was positively starved, and didn't know any of the plant life around Springwood well enough to know what was safe to eat, so she kept walking, trying to find some house with unattended food or something.
The combination of her hunger and the fatigue in her muscles from walking so much with little rest was really taking a toll on her. She was becoming exhausted, and the Land Confusion was getting worse. Soon, she forgot which direction was the Ocean, and that meant she was lost.
So lost, she continued along the path until she tripped over.. something. She wasn't sure what. She looked down and saw blood, bright, shiny blood oozing from her knee, and some debris from the path stuck in the wound, she pulled away most of it, but there was one particularly large piece of something that hurt terribly when she tried to pull on it, making her wince and cry with pain. She needed help.
She hobbled to her feet and continued on the path, trying to find someone, anyone to help her. She didn't know what this sort of injury would mean for her transformations, and it hurt so much worse every time she took a step.
