WHO: AJ and Lina. WHAT: Spending time together, idk. WHEN: Now. WHERE: Trailer park. RATING: TBD.
“You know Julian isn’t going to go for being babied and forced into feeling weak or risking looking weak. It’s not in a wolf’s nature.” AJ was trying to be logical, but people were being good friends. He needed rest, which he did. He needed lighter duty because he wasn’t healed, which technically was true. His body wasn’t requiring surgery now but if he wasn’t careful, he could run the risk of needing it or hurting himself worse and doing more damage. But Julian was a Thomas male, he was a werewolf and more importantly, he was a Phantom. There was no chance in hell he was being benched.
“You deal with his brooding temper then.” AJ said shaking his head as he stepped away from the group listening to them talking amongst themselves about the situation they were in as a whole. It wasn’t a good one. Julian had done nothing wrong with what he did. Sanjay told Shane flat out, if someone went after Lina, whether they were together or not, he’d have done the same or worse to them for touching someone that was his.
Most guys on some level were possessive. He even used Shane as an example. He had his moments when other guys not in the phantoms approached Cassie or spoke to her. He was human and was bound to have even the smallest moments of jealousy and possessiveness toward someone. It didn’t mean he didn’t trust Cassie, it was just an innate feeling. For creatures and specifically werewolves who were by nature pack animals and wanted to form packs it was even worse.
Once that person or once your mind and wolves spirit agreed that, that girl was yours, there was no going back. It was why even though they weren’t together, AJ was possessive to a dangerous level about Lina. Everyone in the trailer park knew that fucking with her either with malice or with sexual interest was a ticket to dying. You didn’t want to die? You didn’t touch her. Julian, likewise, had done what was in his nature. He protected his mate and made sure she was safe from a threat.
His phone rang and he answered it, listening to his mother’s voice bitching, crying and doing all the things he knew meant Julian was home and trying his hardest not to be fussed over and made to do…well nothing. “I have to go. Shane remember what I said. You’re going to piss him off and make him feel disrespected. Give him a real job.”
That said, AJ made his way home and spent an hour trying, unsuccessfully, to mediate between his brother and his mother. His brother wanted left alone to sleep off the drugs still in his system and she wanted to fuss and take care of him when really all he did need was rest. Unfortunately, his mother just wanted to make sure her baby was safe, comfortable, and being smothered to death by her affection and fear of almost losing him to what was happening. Especially with his girlfriend still in the hospital, recovering from her surgery. A surgery he came close to needing as well. It was a scary time for them.
After an hour though, he finally got her to agree to give Julian time to rest, and with that, he walked outside lighting a cigarette and moving to one of the lawn chairs and taking a seat in it trying to, for the moment, relax a bit. They were going to be the death of him, he knew it!
A shadow fell across him though, and he looked up to see the porch lights illuminating a figure. It was Amber, someone he’d met before. Julian asked her over to help with his injuries? “Mom is going to smother you next. His room.” When she disappeared inside the trailer, AJ went back to smoking only to stop as he heard movement coming. It was distant, but it was definitely coming his way. That had him turning his attention toward the road and h waited, ready for anything, his body only calming slightly, SLIGHTLY when he saw it was Lina. “To what do I owe the visit?”
