Hello and welcome to Wake Up Woodsbridge! This is the morning news for Thursday the 7th of July. I’m Samantha Cross and since Monica is still sunning it up in Barbados — I hope that humidity isn’t wreaking havoc on your hair, sweetie! — I am more than happy to continue filling in for her. I want to take just a moment to thank my fabulous viewers for the lovely fan mail I've received! I appreciate it so much! And now, onto our top stories. As many of you may already know from last evening’s news report, during the mayor’s speech yesterday at his fundraising luncheon he proposed an 'either or' standard for reluctant tales. This would require currently unregistered tales to register either their tale or their power. If elected, he promised to get this proposal passed into law, because "what happened with Portia Huntington cannot happen again. Citizens have a right to information so that they can prepare and protect themselves as they see fit." We have Fiona Lin, beloved local Fairy Godmother, on the line now to comment: SAMANTHA CROSS: Hello, Fiona? The commercial that follows is for the Remembrance Ball: A cartoon version of what is obviously the White Rabbit from the Alice stories hops onto the screen urging residents of Woodsbridge “NOT TO BE LATE!” in buying their tickets for the Remembrance Ball. Dress as your Tale self! Celebrate our shared heritage! All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Castle Street Library and its need for repairs. |
