Characters: Emma Swan and the huntsman
When: After this
Location: Emma's room
Warnings/Rating: None as of right now.
Summary: Emma needs to talk to the huntsman so she has him coming to her room.
Status: closed, ongoing

Emma still wasn’t even sure what made her send the message to the huntsman for them to talk. Yes, she had some feelings for him, but was she really ready to talk about them sharing a room together? With everything going on, she wasn’t sure if it was a wise idea to get feelings for anyone. The one thing she never allowed was her walls to come down, but Mary Margaret had called her out on that even pointing out how people could see that she had some feelings for Graham. Why was Emma so nervous? Maybe because she never really took this step and avoided this step. The other reason could be because she didn’t think that she deserved a guy like the huntsman. As many times as he told her that she was a good person it was still a thought how she really wasn’t. Only reason she was doing this was because she realized that he could be sent back to a world he was dead in at any moment. Then the thought was could she take losing him again? Dealing with Regina and fighting with her was so much easier than dealing with emotions or feelings. Fighting was something she did all her life to survive, but she learned from a young age that feelings were a bad thing to have. Feelings would end up with a person getting hurt and she couldn’t take anymore hurt. If Regina found out how Emma felt about the huntsman, she would probably have fun with it like she enjoyed hurting Emma by taking Henry away from her by banning them from being around one another. She couldn’t ban them from being around one another, but she could hurt the huntsman if she got her powers back. Could the train really bring her powers back? No, that was crazy causing her to push it aside for now.

Running her fingers through her blonde hair, Emma shut her eyes as she tried to think whether she really wanted to talk about it now. Emma found herself avoiding most of the people from fairy tale world because of all the things she was dealing with. Henry was the only person she didn’t mind seeing every day since they were over the whole awkward stage. Charming and Snow were the main people she kept avoiding because of her fear they might reject her but she also didn’t know how to get to know them or how they might dislike the type of person Emma turned into. All her fears were causing her to avoid them since she was still trying to adjust to knowing who her parents were. Now that she was thinking about it, she figured it would be interesting to have them find out that Emma had an interest in the huntsman who was someone that her parents knew. Shaking her head, she took a deep breath as she told herself that she could do this. Emma could deal with an evil queen, a dragon, living on the streets, and so many other things that she hoped she could deal with this. Maybe he would get sidetracked or something and not show up. That could happen, right? Then she wouldn’t have to do this and maybe she wouldn’t be such a nervous wreck over doing something she had never done before or facing up to things that she had never done before. What if he found himself bored with her once they shared a room together? Her thoughts were going to be the death of her along with her fears that now she was wishing the huntsman would hurry up so she could get this over with, probably get rejected, and bounce back to her old self. Leaning back on her bed, she shut her eyes as she waited for the huntsman to show up.

He laughed briefly at her calling Wolf a 'cute' animal.

"I don't know how she'd take to that," he said. "She's not cute unless she wants to be. You should see her when she decides to take out a deer. And of course I'll keep my promise. I don't make promises in the first place if I don't intend to keep them."

He raised an eyebrow. "Weeell, then. The illustrated expose of my fairy tale life. Perfect."

“Yeah, but I haven’t really seen the whole taking out a deer so she’s cute and beautiful,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “I’m sure she just loves the attention that she doesn’t care what she’s called as long as she gets noticed and petted,” she teased, wrinkling her nose at him. “Like I said I’ve heard it all before so I’ll just see if you keep the promise,” Emma trusted him though even if she never really said it. Showing emotions wasn’t for her, which was weird when it seemed like him, Charming, Snow, and the rest of the fairy tale characters were better at it. Only emotion she was great at showing was anger. Her whole trusting people wasn’t something that came easy, but she was going to try.

A laugh left her lips, shaking her head. “You should feel special. How many people on the train can say they have a section about them in a book?” She asked with a teasing smile. “You’re famous but I left the book in Henry's room." It was his book and only time she took it was to look through it.

"You should come hunting with me sometime. It's...an experience to see her hunt. She's incredible."

He scratched Wolf's ears before smiling back at Emma.

"It's a bit strange for me, actually, to see myself in a book like that. Not something I'm used to. Don't really like that kind of attention. But I'm glad I could do what I could to help Snow."

"I don't really do the whole hunting thing. I track people down, but the whole hunting thing isn't really something I've done. Maybe sometime though I'll go," she told him with a nod. Emma was good at certain things, but hunting was not one of them and darts was another. She had tried the whole game since Graham had been good only to end up not even getting the darts in the wall or anything but the floor. Stupid game!

Emma smirked since she knew what he meant. Then again she was only in a small part and she burned those pages since she thought Henry was really reaching. Emma didn't want to be a in a book or believe that she was in a book.

"Oh come on just think of all the girls you could sleep with. Rockstars are known for always getting the ladies so try a whole I'm a fairy tale character to see how that works," she teased, laughing softly at the idea. Joking was her way of avoiding the serious emotional stuff and after the whole talk about getting a room together she needed to get far away from the emotional crap. "I think everyone is going to find it weird to know they are in the book, but it was nice to see the book still pisses Regina off like no tomorrow." Then again the book was what caused Henry to come on the search for Emma when she turned 28.

"Well, Henry came to find you because of the book," he said. "And it kind of does set out the case for her being the enemy of everyone in our world."

He shrugged and grinned at her.

"Oh, I don't need that, for sure. I'm already having to fight women off with a stick. Why do you think I really am grateful that Wolf is around?"

He grinned, finding the idea of him as a rockstar about as absurd as things ever could be.

“Yeah, and Mary Margaret was the one who gave him the book so even in Storybrooke Snow knows how to piss Regina off. Then add me to the picture,” she said with a small smirk. The whole thing made her wonder now what would have happened if Henry never showed up. August was the one who should have brought her to Storybrooke, but he never did and wasn’t planning on it. “She did that all on her own. Something was off with her from the moment I met her.” But she had taken it as her being untrusting since she didn’t think many were good people.

Emma started to laugh, shaking her head at his comment about fighting women off with a stick. “Is that so? Yeah, Wolf is fighting them off because she wants you for herself,” she pointed out with an amused smirk. “God just think of how much attention you could get with the wolf, the whole fairy tale character, and that you were sheriff? You’ll be locking yourself in a room to hide from all the women.” She sighed after a moment because she knew she had to go back to the emotional weird stuff for a moment. “So when do you want to find a room that works for us? Tomorrow?”

Her room was empty, but she wanted one with an empty on the other side in case Henry decided that he wanted to move in next to her and the huntsman.

He turned serious when she began to speak of important things again.

"Yeah, that's fine with me. Do you want me to come over and meet you? Then we can go check things out."

Emma felt weird about being serious or even thinking about taking this step because it wasn’t her. Then again the thought of how the train could send him away tomorrow was why she was trying to take a big step. “Yeah, that works for me. How about tomorrow afternoon?” She asked with a small nod. Emma was up early sometimes, but she had a feeling that when she woke up that she would be freaking out a bit at the thought of sharing a room with someone she cared about. Tomorrow morning was going to be hell, but then again she might surprise herself and be fine. One could hope.

"Alright, then. I'll see you in the afternoon, then? Message me? Or do you want me to message you?"

"You can message me once you're thinking about heading over to my room," she told him. Then she would head back to her room if she wasn't in the room or make sure that she was ready so they could decide on a new room for them. Moving over to him she kissed him softly, "I'll see you in the afternoon, huntsman."

He was surprised by the kiss, to be sure, but didn't mind at all returning it. In fact, he pulled her a bit closer to deepen it.

"I will. You can count on it."

Emma was trying to be more open with the huntsman, but she was having a hard time. Then again this was the biggest step she had ever taken with anyone so that had to count for something even if she had a hard time with being on the emotional side of things. "Okay, then I'll see you tomorrow and we can figure out a room for us to share?" She would offer to let him stay here for the night, but she figured she would enjoy her one last night before taking a big step.

"Sounds good," he answered. "I promise it won't be a nightmare, Emma. We won't let it be."

"I know it's just a huge step for me so I'm taking it one step at a time," she told him with a small smile. It felt a little better to hear him say that they wouldn't let it be a nightmare.

[Sounds good! By the way I know I've said this before but I love your huntsman!]
