Summary: Nick and Lily experiment with translation spells.

Nick wasn't that concerned about whether this would work. He was just assuming that it wouldn't and then if it did, he would be pleasantly surprised. Like Jaime said, he could find someone to translate for him or he could just make do. It would be more complicated, not knowing what other people were saying, but maybe he would just go out and have a look around. If it was even somewhere he wanted to get out. Maybe it wouldn't be fit for it. He was almost more interested in seeing magic because he was still a little skeptical. Logically, he didn't actually doubt that there were witches and wizards and vampires. Why not? He'd been kidnapped by a train, and even back home, he hadn't believed in God before the superflu. But that seemed different. Millions of people did believe in some sort of god and it wasn't something that was likely to get you labeled as crazy. If you were to run around announcing that you believed in magic and vampires (and reality hopping trains), that would turn a few heads. So he was curious to have an actual spell performed on him. He wasn't sure he would admit it, but there was also a little bit of excitement. Even if a part of him had trouble believing, another part of him really hoped it was true. Who hadn't wished magic was real at some point in their life? With those thoughts in mind, he made his way to Lily's room and lifted a hand to knock. He had his device in his pocket along with a pad of paper and a pen. He really liked being able to communicate over the network, but he was still getting the hang of typing on it and so, at this point, hand written notes were still quicker and easier for him. |
