Progress. That's exactly what it was and Rogue smiled at the encouragement. Beth was a good partner to work with and she felt like she could make a decent amount of progress if given enough time and the right motivation. A sidelong glance at Logan reminded her that she had the right motivation, even if nothing happened between them. The promise of it was enough to make her want to try and she would do what she could, continue to try her very best to give her a shot at a normal life.
"You ride?" she asked, curious as she tried to imagine Logan on a horse. It was somewhat surprising, unlike the image of him sitting in a bar. "I'm glad there were horses then, and that you had the chance." It wasn't like he could go riding on the train and the past few stops didn't seem like they were conducive to riding horses. Certainly not for pleasure like they could do here.
Rogue didn't blame him for wanting a last bit of peace and quiet. Her first reaction was to offer to leave but she bit the inside of her cheek to stop the words from spilling out. He would have told her to go if that were the case instead of inviting her to sit next to him on the porch. "It's beautiful here. I wish we could stay, if only for the peace and quiet. We don't get much of that on the train."
