Like so many of the others, Logan didn't trust the train's sudden benevolence. Though he supposed benevolence was giving it too much credit. It didn't seem to be fucking with them, and the fact that he couldn't see what was going on bothered him. It made him think there was something nasty in the works, and he knew he wasn't the only one with that mindset. When Jaime had stopped by his compartment earlier, they'd chatted about that and a few other things. She seemed to have come back down from the tense, all business side of herself, and he was glad for that. He missed the funny side of Jaime. He did manage to get out of her that she and Ray had stepped up their relationship another level, and he honestly was happy for her. After she'd wandered out of the touring car, he'd remained where he was for a little while longer to watch the scenery roll by before heading to the kitchen for food. It was after dinner time, and he knew Lily had already cleaned up, so he was careful to take care of any messes he made before carrying his plate of food back to the dining car. Dinner was supplemented with a beer, and after he'd finished, he made sure to wash up after himself. He had no interest in making more work for the people in the kitchen. Instead of retreating back to either his room or his compartment once he'd eaten, he pulled a deck of cards out of his pocket and plunked down at one of the long tables. He started to lay out a game of solitaire, figuring someone would show up sooner or later. If they were interested in chatting, he guessed he could be too. If they were interested in being annoying, well, he guessed he could be interested in leaving the room. Until then though ... he'd sit and play with his cards and see who passed through. |
