Connor's LED flickered to red. There was a memory at the front of his mind now, an older man's face in the snow as he mourned a dead child with a drink in one hand and a gun in the other. And then another face, his own, but more troubled. Remembered through video footage Connor had looked at later. "Cole. His name was Cole."

He was vaguely aware of Markus saying something but barely heard it over the memory. "I miss my father too," Connor realized, speaking the words so quietly he wasn't sure anyone even heard them. His voicebox was capable of decimals below normal human hearing, but neither of the other beings in the room were human.

Connor blinked and looked at Markus. He didn't require sleep. Perhaps he was referring to low power mode? A mode Connor had not truly allowed himself to delve into since arriving here in this new town, afraid he would wake up with glitches again. "Goodnight, Markus," he offered, his tone back to calm neutral, even if his LED was still flickering yellow.
