Miguel couldn't sleep. Nothing unusual about that, not any more. Being turned half-spider had somehow meant he didn't need as much sleep as he used to. He'd managed a couple of hours earlier, but that was him for the night. It was late now, late enough that it was almost early, as he left his room and then the block. Hopefully, most people would be in their beds or in their rooms at least, and nobody else would be out wandering the building at Stupid o'Clock.
The door to the outside was closed but not locked, so Miguel slipped outside and walked around for a little while. He had no destination in mind, happy to wander wherever his feet took him. There were lights on in the house, but after a few minutes he found himself somewhere dark enough that he could comfortably take his glasses off without hurting his eyes. Moving carefully so that he didn't accidentally look back at one of the lights around the house and get an eyeful of blinding light, he took his time to look all around and let his eyes relax for once. He could see everything in the darkness as clearly as if it was daytime, but he hadn't come outside to just stand there and look at plants in the dark.
"Lyla?" he asked, keeping his voice low and soft.
"You are currently on your own, Miguel," she replied, not bothering to manifest at that point in time. Her voice was also quiet, since neither of them wanted to make more noise than was absolutely necessary. Miguel nodded and reached up as his clothing seemed to fade away to nothing, leaving him standing there in a blue-black skintight costume that blended into the shadows. His mask was pulled down over his face in an instant, and then he leapt into the air, spinning as he did so. He grabbed the side of the building with ease and climbed up towards the roof, avoiding windows as he went. He couldn't exactly go web-swinging or gliding, not properly, but he could get as high up as he possibly could.
