AWZ Stars in PETA Photoshoot Against Animal Cruelty
Despite the ridiculousness of the current "dog rescue" plot on AWZ (in case you're not watching: Tom, Annette and Vanessa "rescue" an "abused" dog [i.e. healthy, fluffy, well-brushed dog tied up at his owner's place with food and water], then promptly foist it off on the first random people they come across because they have more important things to do, like engaging in the lamest love triangle since... no, actually, we don't think anything compares; and no, sadly we're not kidding), ... there are actual animals in the world actually being treated like shit.
Juliette Menke and Jörg Rohde participated in an anti-animal-cruelty photoshoot for PETA. We thought we'd share, because...
Has there EVER been a better incentive for learning German? If all messages of political import were delivered like this, we'd probably have achieved world peace already. Just saying.
(Her body paint says "I'd rather go naked than wear fur", along with other graphic key words about how animals are killed for their fur.)
And then Jörg gets out his anti-hunting message in this priceless portrait:
After spending a goodly while admiring the artistic impact of this picture and trying to decide whether we're more impressed/amused with Jörg's popping biceps and Gollum-esque expression of agony, or with the supremely aloof, uninterested demeanour of the bunnies, lilithilien and I came up with an elaborate fantasy that involved Ben Steinkamp transforming into a werewolf and Isabelle fleeing from the monster she loves, wearing a maroon velvet cloak and running through a desolate old-school nightmare goth landscape. (Her dress may or may not have been artistically slashed to ribbons). (We'd peddle it to Show for a cracky dream sequence but since that'd take valuable time away from Katja's mopey montages and Marian getting drunk, we don't think it's really a worthy cause.)
