My main problem with Katja right now is the same one I had with Stella - the ham-fisted Romantic Heroine(TM) pushing, the way every character in her storylines seems to be contractually required to have at least one "Why Katja Is Awesome" line per episode and must swoon and fawn over her at all times, and how even though she and Isabelle largely display the same kind of attitude right now, we are clearly supposed to find it empowered, confident and fabulous in Katja, but mean-spirited, bitchy and evil in Isabelle. And it IS the same kind of attitude. They are both giving each other snotty looks, snippy remarks and generally behave like a pair of toddlers fighting over a toy in a sandbox. (Makes you want to spank them both. OH HELLO IMAGERY!). Yet for some reason this is pushed as acceptable, even encouraged in Katja while it's reviled in Isabelle. That double standard crap just pisses me off. I'd be fine with Katja embracing her nastier traits, if it was actually handled and acknowledged as such (Mirror Twin plot PLS!). But all this bollocks about how when Katja is bitchy, it's because it's a courageous act of true love, or a spunky show of spirit, or hey, the other person DESERVED it but Katja is still wonderful!... has to go.
(Also, as far as reasons for true love, bonding, destiny, soulmates, etc. go - BeKa's GRAFFITI might possibly even rank lower than SteLars' DECEASED LOVED ONE as a basis for a relationship :p Even though "A graffiti!" might sound a tiny bit better in response to "So what do you guys have in common?" than "A corpse!")
