[home sweet home] returning to your world ; meme

You wake up in your bed, maybe. Somewhere. Somewhere you know.

Familiar scents fill your nose, the scents of home. You get up and look around and you come to a stunning, breath-taking (and sickening?) realization. You're home again. Somehow, just now, you were whisked away from that strange place you were, for however long you lived there, with how many people you came to know, and plunked down in your home, your own world. The bubble popped and now you're left wondering... was that even real? Could it have been?

What do you do now?

The phone's ringing. Maybe you should answer that.

How To Play

- Comment to the thread with your character. It will be their "world" they've returned to.
- Other people comment to them, reconnecting or awakening next to them in that home world.
- The where, when, setting & that sort of thing are up to you!
- Freak out, panic, try to figure what to do next.

Bonus:

- Work in a time difference, Lake House style!
- Is something off about this home world? Is it even really yours?

I'm real. [She affirms it again for whatever good that does coming from the delusion.]

...I haven't tried yet. [But of course she can, right? Still, the question stirred up some anxiety in her as she reaches out with her other hand toward one of his cabinets. She touches it at first—solid under her fingers. Triggering her powers, she pushes her fingers against the panel and to her relief they slip through easily.]

Looks like.

[He practically holds his breath when she reaches out for the cabinet, and when her hand sinks though as easily as it always has, he's not sure if he should be relieved or concerned. On one hand this means that this is the Kitty he knows, intact and healthy and unchanged. On the other, this is more than enough for him to start doubting his senses again.

Hand still gripping hers, Reid swallows. Okay. Where next?]

So... our respective realities must've been bent back to my original timeline - not just that, but the very moment that my reality was diverted to Marina. Seeing as you have your powers intact-- [Nope, really can't make sense of that yet. As much as he's trying to.]

	It's normal for me to have powers, Reid, even if there aren't other mutations like mine here. Like I said, they aren't magic. It's biology. I don't get why Sentience would send me here though. Did someone else do something? Is it a glitch? Is everyone here? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I know... I know. [But it's not normal here. It's not something he's used to seeing in a familiar environment.]

If they are, they're not here. [A promotion for Captain Obvious. He finally pulls his hand out of hers, moving back through the apartment towards a window. He needs some air, and even more so he needs to check and see if they're really where he assumes they are.]

Well, we were in bed together and ended up in different rooms. If others are here they might be scattered over the city.

...With powers and no idea where they are.

[She watches him, giving him space for the moment while she looks over the rest of his apartment. If this wasn't so fresh she'd probably be taking in the details to learn more about Reid rather than just trying to familiarize herself with this place.]

[DC smells like DC always smells at 3 in the morning. The cold night air gives him a chance to push the more disturbing thoughts to the side - like the fact that he technically just lost three weeks - and focus on what matters. The work at hand. And if she's here, unchanged, then there is a possibility that others are as well. He can't ignore that.]

[And maybe he does have one. Actually, upon opening his closet and looking at the options, he decides to just step aside and let her have her pick. There isn't a huge variation anyway - dress shirts, pants, cardigans, the aforementioned sweatervest, a few short-sleeved button-ups and the odd blazer or three. Socks. Underwear, though he doesn't expect her to really go for that. Hopes she won't, truth be told.]

Probably better if you just pick out something yourself.

[Privacy should be less of an issue by now, but apparently being in such a familiar place - where women do not usually tread - means he's reverting to his old, more shy habits. Temporarily, perhaps, but still enough for him to turn his back to her while she's getting dressed. ]
