Jo had spent most of her time after her arrival in Gehenna scoping the place out. Rule number one for a hunter, always have all the information you can manage before something shitty goes down. In a lot of cases, that, unfortunately, didn't leave much time. In this one, Jo figured she had more time than she would necessarily need seeing as how this place seemed to be fifty pounds of shitty in a five-pound bag.

She'd heard about the party for the new mayor from a couple of people she'd passed by earlier and thought it might be a good idea to check it out. Knowing who would be somewhat running the place would be good information, and the fact that at least the first drink was free didn't hurt either.

She wasn't keen on giving coins with her name away to people she didn't know, but if the first drink was free, she may find a good reason to play this little game and make it beneficial for herself.

When the "new mayor" got up to give his little speech, Jo found herself listening, if only pretending not to. She couldn't help but chuckle softly at the statements that came from the man's mouth. He wasn't wrong, after all. Doing what she did and working in bars to make money on the side had her seeing a lot of the worst kinds of shit mankind had to offer. Things that went bump in the night were only a part of the reason she'd learned to protect herself early on and how to use a weapon. Humans could be just as bad as the supernatural, if not worse sometimes.

Tossing back her first drink of the night, since she'd been nursing it for a little bit, the sound of the man of honor saying the rest of the drinks were basically on the house had her chuckling once again and ordering a second. Maybe tonight wouldn't be a complete loss. There were always interesting things to find out when people got to drinking and Jo was nothing if not observant. She listened. She took in information like a sponge. And from there, she always had a game plan. This was just one more place in a list of many. Things likely weren't all that different here than anywhere else.

Watching the new mayor take a seat in a corner of the room, she rose her bottle to him in recognition and gave him a slight nod of respect before taking a drink and looking around the room once again.

She knew all she had to do was play the waiting game... and that was one game she was definitely a pro at.
